I've heard that PNS are fielding their full 1st team against Deeping's reserves next week on Tuesday?
Seems a tad unfair, not least on the PNS res regulars, but also on Deeping res.
Care to comment Tommy?

Thanks for your unusual interest in our Reserves JB, though I feel that your post may have betrayed you?
There is no such thing as 1st team and Reserve players as they all sign the same form and were mostly all available for selection last night.
We have 16 league games, 2 cup finals and a cup semi-final to negotiate as a club in the next 38 days and will continue to make the decisions that are to the benefit of the club overall.
For you peace of mind, the Reserves have a Cup Final next Tuesday and have a few players carrying a knock and have 3 games more than the 1st team, left to play, whilst the 1st team have very clearly been short of fitness in the past few games after 2 games in 12 weeks, so it was an easy decision for me to make in asking that those players that would benefit from a game last night be given that opportunity.

TC, you truly believe "there is no such thing as 1st team and Reserve players"? So, that same group of players that appeared last night, would they have all travelled away to Cogenhoe or Woodford last night?? You can come back and say yes they would, etc etc, but we all know the actual answer there...
Interesting game last night to be honest, and any neutrals watching would have been hard pushed to clearly know who was the 1st team. I feel that PNS 1st team (bar the keeper, as I believe he is predominantly a reserve player) were very dissappointing. They should have ran out clear winners last night, but were fortunate to win the game. If - as opposed to a few weeks ago when it was clearly 'when' - PNS are promoted to the UCL Prem, there would need to be significant improvements to the team just to survive.
I find your last comment very interesting. About it being an easy decision for you to make in 'asking' that those players that would benefit from a game last night be given that opportunity... It describes a club full of harmony, with all sections working together hand in hand for the benefit of the club as a whole... Like your mate corbyken, I've got some friends at the post office, and I also hear that the club is run as two seperate teams, I also hear that a number of players were distinctly unhappy that they were 'asked' not to play last night. Incidentally, where was your Reserve manager last night? He didn't appear to be in the dugout yet it was a Reserve fixture? If the manager is who I think it is, he was on the opposite side of the pitch watching from the stand!.... A happy camp indeed!

I thought it was a decent game against a strong Deeping side with the likes of Kennedy playing for them etc. Whilst we did not have Plummer, Hill, Morris, Garwell, Edge or Roberts playing it was primarily a first team squad along with Peacock, Kilby, Mohammed and Moreman.
The pitch looked like it had has had a tough winter and was bare and bumpy for a Deeping surface and whilst we did not play great, we got the win comfortably enough except for 1 late chance and got the run out the guys needed - mission accomplished and onto Saturday for both sides and the challenges that lie ahead - end of

Strange how observers from different camps see things... A comfortable win most definitely not!
Peacock started, Mohammed and Kilby didn't, and Moreman I'm sure has appeared regular enough for your 1st Team to be a squad player / fringe player.
As for a 'strong' Deeping side, they only had two 1st team squad members playing, both of which didn't play Saturday, which I'm guessing is why they played last night. We both know, as does everyone else who was at the match, that Deeping deserved something from the game.
You didn't answer one of my previous questions... Was that your Reserve manager in the stand?

I refer you all to my previous comments about all not right at PNS. However I do understand why they did what they did after not having a first team game Sat funnily enough and most important thing for that club to aim for is promotion. JohnnyB my view is that anyone classing themselves as a "reserve team regular" is not much use to anyone. They should all be aiming to get in first team surely?

Tommy... Watched the game other than the 1st 25 mins. have to agree with JB that the score flattered you and you were certainly outplayed most of the 2nd half.
But.... i do hope the rest of your season goes well and you get the promotion you deserve. Good luck mate!

Personally and if i was a reserve team player I would not bother turning up for their fixture on Saturday if they are not good enough for the game against Deeping Reserves then why play saturday. I would feel slightly used by the whole situation, but thats just my opinion.
I have heard that PNS were lucky to come away with the 3 points and that Deeping Reserves played very well considering the opposition and quality.

Brian I am glad we dont have a poor little flower like you at mighty Irchester. Everyone signed on should be pushing and rooting for the first team to get promoted and doing whatever it takes. PNS need all of the help they can get. Get over yourself.

Confused didnt PNS win the game. You seem Confused. Didnt PNS outplay Deeping 1st team in a pre-season game I seem to remember. Mind you everyone did I think. Sometimes this happens. It is "Their" dream by the way. Cant wait for mighty Romans to invade your little Deeping village next season and swat away the likes of Brian with his weak heart as we crash on through the leagues. Should be fun. Should be easy.

Brettonian - you need to check your maths mate.... 2 games in 12 weeks? They've played 7 games in the last 12 weeks!! 6 League and 1 cup. And let's be honest, the majority of teams will have had to endure the exact same problems as PNS have with regards to bad weather etc etc. I'm still waiting for anybody to confirm if that was the Reserve manager in the stand as opposed to being in the dugout?

I cant see a problem with this are Deeping the only team where the 1st team dont play for the reserves then. as i watched a match Deeping reserves play S&L reserves 2 weeks ago and and Deeping had 5 or 6 1st team players and still lose
