An all Northampton affair this time, should be a good game this one. On paper NSR are the stronger team and if I was a betting man my money would be on them. Having the leagues top scorer also helps!!
Whats everyone else's thoughts on tonights game?

chenecks are stronger!! I think chenecks will walk it, the only advantage that sileby have is that they have played on a pitch that is the same quality/better than rushden and diamonds, whilst chenecks often bully teams on their small and narrow pitch. I think the chenecks midfield will overpower sileby's and will win by 3.
The only good thing about this final is that it is a reasonably even affair, rather than last year in which PNS were clearly a league better than anyone else in the division, this should be a good game, and despite my confidence in chenecks ability to win, it is a cup final, and an outstanding individual performance can make the difference (nick worley!)

Good competitive game last night and very even for the large part to echo div1fan a much tighter affair than last years final. I would say the ONC had the better of the first half chances however NSR were obviously fired up after the break with Worley being denied by some outstanding last ditch defending I was dissapointed to see him have such a quiet game. Overall not a bad advert for UCl Div 1

A good competitive game, not many chances but cup finals are a completly different game and this can be expected. ON'S were defiently the better team in the first half and should have been 3 up if it wasnt for a good save and a penalty which was waved away. The second half sileby stepped up a mark but could not get through a very resiliant chenecks defence. overall chenecks deserved the win for there excellent work rate which started from up top and ran throughout the whole team.

Congrats to Marksy and his team, reward for turning an unfashionable club into a side to reckoned with. To be honest though i cant see him and his Irish Assistant Michael O'Donnelly being their to much longer as i'm sure a job at a club with greater potential in the Northampton area would be far more appealing should it surely arise. He has plenty of contacts in town and backed by even the smallest of budgets im sure he could take an ambitious club far!!

Did they open the bar after the game? Was wondering that myself tommyc - guess last year that when they heard that us Badgers would be in town, they didn't want to take any chances! ;D Well done to all at Chens, hope Jordan Casey was involved after getting a losers medal with us last season

To be honest, I think he would be silly to move on at this point especially as I am sure he would feel there is still some unfinished business to acheive with the ONC , like the small matter of the league title!! Especially if he can keep together the core of the squad he has put together I feel they will certainly be strong contenders next season with the possible addition of another striker.
With lady luck on your side as you see with pompey any club can win a cup, where you can really be considered a succes is winning the league by consistantly being the best team throughout the season.
Realistically surely a prem move other than maybe a top 3 side would be a sideway / backward move. Like I say with the ONC he will be considered real title contenders next season?

yes, totally agree ONS can be real title contenders next year.... after looking at their results if it was not for such a poor start then they would be well up there ....the team doesnt need changing from what i have seen of it and from wednesday night but just consistincy throughout the next campaign.unlike us we are very unconsistent and is why we are where we are this year.If ONS can keep the team they have now then they must surely be up there as favourites with the other teams coming down from the prem.

In reality a good season means your players get approached during the summer! un less chens get lights and enclosed pitch they are always likely to hav better players wanting to step up to Prem football.
