No that wasn't the score, thats the date. Well what a dismal night....... no I don't mean the football, I mean the rain. The football was, as most matches recently, quite good. Fords still haven't got that killer punch to see teams off though. The players found it difficult in keeping their feet in the muddy conditions particularly in the box when under pressure. Couldn't clear the ball easily and missed chances at the other end when NPT were under pressure. Oh well 1 point is better than none (but not as good as 3). Better luck this w/e against S & L.

The conditions were terrible! The game could of gone either way, both sides finishing and defending very poor. Glad i was sat in the stand! ;D
I cant understand why the referee gave newport 3 yellow cards and none to Ford Sports for at least 2, if not equal but worse fouls on newport players. It goes like that sometimes i suppose!
I think the weather must of been hanging over Daventry as when i got back to Milton Keynes it was dry. Its usually the other way around! ;D

It was a terrible night.. the sight that greeted me as I walked around the corner towards the stands reminded me of the film "Twister" and I was amazed I didn't see a flying cow or house in that wind.
Despite this both teams put on a decent show of attacking football and a draw probably was the fair result on the night. NPTFC were far from their best and seemed to lack quailty on the final ball and the weather on the night I think was the leveller. Defending in those conditions was never going to be easy and other than Fords missing a couple of chances at the end when Newport were pushing for the win the lads did well defensively (Ford's worked and took their goal well).
As far as the ref goes I thought he did "ok".. players were losing their feet which made tackles look worse than they were and I thought the Ford's Midfield were making a lot more of the tackles than the Newport players which is why 3 of our lads were booked for challenges not a lot worse than what was being dished out in return. Does that make sense, I don't know, what I do know is I was a lot happier when I got in and cuddled the radiator for 20 minutes. ;D

(Ford's worked and took their goal well). If you want someone to score when the ball is floated into the box, make sure Crockett's head is on the end of it. He has scored so many this season like that.

Quite a good display by both keepers as well. Motorman - your keeper made some good saves with his knees considering the difficult slippery conditions! Keepers nightmare that sort of weather!

Yes, Fords 'keeper did make some good saves. It was his debut because as you know from another thread, Brooks has broken his hand. Thats the 5th 'keeper we have had to use this season due to injury.
