Fully understand where your coming from chips and you have my symapthies. I have done for the past ** years and its unbeleivable how many club linesmen favour their own team .

Not necessarily to do with cheats but its nice that when visiting clubs come without a linesman and the home side help them out saving them a fine from the League that they shake hands with you at the end and say thank you. Sorry to say that that did'nt happen at our game yesterday. It was very unpleasant and rude and rest assured we will never help another club that come without a linesman.

This really surprises me that you can turn up without one - if you didn't provide an extra one - what happens then? Match off?

Usually offending teams get away by using a sub as linesman but apparently thats a no no according to the referees. Basically thereafter when the referee completes his report form to the League he can report the offending team who then should receieve a fine by the UCL.
