Just an idea but how about......
1 automatic promotion place and then play offs for the second promotion place with 2nd v 5th, 3rd v 4th and then a final.
Do you think this could spice up the league a little? Does it need spicing up?

No. This season gone, there weren't even 6 teams that had the facilitied to go up, let alone the top 6.

Remember you don't need to have a Prem standard ground to go up, only a Div 1 standard ground. You get a years grace once up so on my reckoning, it would have been only ONC that didn't have the major facilities required to go up(Flood lights).
But then again if you don't like playoffs you don't like them, they are not everyone's cup off tea.

i think playoffs is quite a good idea. it will give more teams something to play for going into the final few weeks of the season and it will certainly spice things up. i agree with andy in the sense that for this to happen then more teams need the required ground grading to enable promotion to the prem

I don't think you could have any play off system unless all clubs meet the ground grading. For instance what would you do with Chenecks, who this season came fourth, if a play off system had been in operation ?

Most teams in recent seasons that have gone up in 3rd spot have struggled in the prem. So for me it would be pointless

At least its created a bit of debate!
With regards the ground grading and the playoffs, whats the point of having two promotion places 1,2 or 3 when all 3 of those could be filled by clubs who's ground isn't at standard. So promotion would be irrelevant anyway?

Should the league management committee issue a list of all clubs in the UCL and the grading that they have achieved ?
