surely Harborough will be able to go into the prem if they get there stand up in time? Obviously if they get promoted. Apparently they have money to attract players this year as they want to gain back to back promotions!

'Apparently' if my auntie had balls she would be my uncle I am not convinced they will cake walk UCL DIV ONE or get anywhere near a promotion place..

Im not sure where the rumours come from with regards to Harboro paying players - they are over £100k in debt, they will be neither paying to attract players nor paying expenses - and have only 1 x addition to there squad from last season. So i agree with BPW - They wont cake walk it at all.....................

its interesting to see the rumours going around and it seems all clubs have their own story's i dont think there will be a clear winner, i havent seen eyenesbury play yet this year, but huntingdon looked good against PNS, and BPW look much improved, disapointed with sileby the other night and ive heard chenecks may have lost a few players with andy marks moving to spencer. i just wonder how sides like bucks, kempston and potton are doing as they could all produce a promotion push!

I imagine those teams in your last sentence will be much the same as they normally are: Big, strong and hard to beat and there or thereabouts in the shake up. As for Burton, yes one would expect them to be stronger this season with the club in a much more stable position now, however don't misjudge the building blocks that were laid last year for the benefit of this season and seasons to come with the investment in youth. Also Burton had limited amounts of good fortune last season and were really close and competitive in 90% of games.. I do not suppose anyone at club would thank me for saying this but a shot at finishing in the top 10 has to be the the target this season.. Expectation/targets brings pressure upon ones self but theres no harm in that is there ? I imagine if you asked managers like Joe Smith at Thrapston and Pettsy at Vanaid then they would say that a promotion place is target ? I would expect the winner to come from a pack of Kempston, Eynesbury. Thrapston and Sileby, all clubs with a lot of recent div one status. Teams like Bucks, Bourne, Potton and Harboro all relatively new to Div One and to finish just on the outskirts and possibly doing battle mid table with the Whitworths, Burtons and your Bugbrookes. Thats my shout anyway

Champs - KempstonRunners up - Sileby3rd - R & HDark Horses - ThrapstonThrapston gonna be more than just dark horses. Another good showing on Sat away @ Buckby (0-0). Quality signings in Jones (can't believe he's playing Div1), Davis, Russell etc. Gonna go close me thinks

LOCAL FAN BPW: in your post you seem to have missed out Huntingdon Town. Is this an oversight or do you not think they will do much this year? They have arguebly the best forward in the league in Jamie Graham, possibly one of the, if not the strongest keeper in the league in Dave Beeny plus some interesting new signings, Jamie Blackwell has been spotted, again, arguebly St.Ives Town's best player over the last few years. Add to that some interesting new signings in Sean Coulson (march town) Seb Cameron (st.ives, elycity, yarmouth town I believe) plus one or two more they could be the surprise package this year. I watched the game against raunds yesterday, and allbeit against a poor side they played some good football.

I watched the game against raunds yesterday, and allbeit against a poor side they played some good football. Always flatter to deceive and something always goes tits up for them. While JG is a very good player, he is not head and shoulders above some of the other top individuals playing for teams in the League. My top 3: 1 Thrapston 2 Kempston 3 Sileby Sileby at 3 could end up being wildly off the mark as in last few years they have blown so hot and cold as a team, club and committee so anything is possible with them. Morgan and Worley will be big losses if gone and difficult to replace though the addition of Turnball and Frankenstein onto the coaching set up gives Pettsy a wider and bigger access to good UCL Division One players. Will be interesting to see if the lad from Bugbrooke (Briscoe) follows them to Vanaid. I fully expect Thrapston and Kempston to be right up there, however there is a couple of unknowns at this level in Bourne and Hboro so that will be interesting. Hunts for me will be same if not a little better than normal ( pre and after Daren Young)

They been flattering to deceive now for the best part of the decade and said to have a few bob from time to time for the odd wage here and there. Without doubt serious underachievers over the years or seriously overrated by people outside looking in

BPW, I didn't say JG was head and shoulders above anyone else, I merely stated that in my opinion he is the best centre forward in the league, at PNS he made the boy Jelleyman look silly on several occasions.
However, that aside, I've never to this day ever had anything to do with Huntingdon Town so just commenting on what I hear through the rumour mill etc etc. (I'm sure you know what that's like). It seems to me from an ousiders point of view that the club isn't actually that well run. The committee don't seem to care a great deal, the players come and go as they please and there is no real structure in place. They have a nice new pavillion but little else. No stand, an outdated, tired looking technical area where the dugouts need replacing, terrible pitch that doesn't seem to get looked after and the standing area behind the dugouts is the only sheltered area they have. They will never draw a big crowd, generate money and attract new players, despite having signed some for the coming season, if they don't do something about it.

BPW, I didn't say JG was head and shoulders above anyone else, Yeah i know you didnt say that. What i meant was that for Hunts to do very well then he or another of their players would have to be the outstanding player in the league capable of doing a Maradonna or Messi and carry the side in a manner of speaking.. Forgot about Eynesbury in the top 3 mix. Can i change it ? Of course i can 1 Thrap 2 Kempston 3 Eynes 4 Sileby

Danger - Sorry for the slow reply, not had a chance to get online. Expectations for Harborough Town FC? Honestly? Im not too sure - I have never played UCL football before so a little unsure of what to expect. It seems we are in for a tough start to the season facing Thrapston and Sileby in the first 3 x games - and they are highly tipped this year - i guess i will know more come then end of August. Im confident in the lads abilities, but im unsure of the level of opposition. Hope that answers your question buddy?
