What a great game. Highly entertaining for the largest Lincoln Road crowd of the season. It made all the effort in getting the game on worthwhile. Could other games have gone ahead with a little more effort, or is it just too easy to "persuade" a Ref to call it off 4 hours before a kick off? Our particular inspector, at 11.00am, was Trevor Mitchell from the League Management Committe and as Trevor knows how our ground "works", we made the decision together that all would be OK. The two sides then put on a great show that ended 1-1 and should probably have been 3-3 and the pitch didn't suffer at all. We'll get our quad machine on it this week and I'm sure it'll be back to it's best for Saturday's Reserve game. On the plus side was the obvious larger than normal gate, not down to the We££ingborough fans but fans and officials from Boston Town, Bourne Town, Deeping Rangers, Desborough Town, Cogenhoe United, Raunds Town, Yaxley, S & L and even........Buckingham Town! Well done to all those true football fans and I hope you enjoyed your afternoon with us at Lincoln Road. We move back into our renovated Clubhouse this Friday 1st Dec but what a great tent we've got, eh!
