Looking at the League table the amount of games some teams have played compared to others is nothing short of crazy and its about time the UCL really sorted this out. Yes I can understand teams venture further in cups than others and weather like we've had over the past week or so has been adverse but to have some teams playing 5 or 6 games more than others is just plain old bad organisation. Picking out Newport in particular (my team who are currently on 23 games played, why make teams like Desborough and Stotfold (who aren't exactly local derbies) travel over on a Tuesday night when its obvious by the end of the season we will have plenty of spare Saturdays come May. To rub salt into the wounds I see we have no game this Saturday but a re-arranged fixture on the 23rd December when we were due to have a rest now giving us 3 games in a week! Come on UCL fixtures commitee sort it out. I'm not saying its an easy job you do but surely some common sense can be applied to the fixtures calendar!

Wellingborough Town have also got 2 double headers playing Bourne on the 16th and 23rd of December and Boston back to back on January 13th and 20th. This is a bit bonkers!

"a bit bonkers" is a very mild way of putting it...

At this rate Newports season will be over by February 2007. At least the players can have a long Spring / Summer break! ;D

This happens season after season. The UCL committee supposedly has software to assist in the fixture preperation, however it is only as good as the person using it...
We had 4 seasons of visiting Boston on a Tuesday and last year Holbeach came to us on a Tuesday, however we have Raunds on a Saturday.
Get used to it with the current incumbents...just ask your Club Treasurer what they think about the allocation of officials each week...
The usual response from the league is that all clubs pay the same (which is true), sadly the average we all pay gets higher and higher every year.... I'm sure the FA will eliminate all clubs below Conference if they try hard enough....

Certainly seems that way... not helped by a hideously biased media either... Did you see the Salisbury v Forest match? One comment after the game by - I believe - Mark Lawrenson was "They've done fantastic here against a club three leagues above them, and just to think they were pailing out of existence just a few years back" (paraphrase). As if being a successful non league club is not worth it's existence. This link will say exactly what they have achieved. and that in no way were they failing. www.salisburyjournal.co.uk/sport/salisburycityfc/table0607/Thats the kind of attitude being pumped into the general public today. What Lawrenson should have said was; they're a good solid club with a successful history. Instead of effectively saying: They're towards the top of the conference now, so maybe they'll actually become a proper club next season and be in the football league.

The Cooks recent fixture list:
Kirkley (Away) cup Holbeach (Away) cup Fakenham (Away) cup Wellingborough (HOME!!!) league Potton (Away) league Wooton (Away) league Spencer (Away) league Raunds (Away) league
Money's tight for most clubs but when you have 1 home fixture out of 8 it makes life very difficult!!

their is no excuse for these fixtures to be played back to back, but i have a few questions? have the clubs complained? if so how long ago? did the clubs give any alternative to the fixtures given? as for software being able to help, the programmes are all but useless except if all ground conditions and cup comps are all the same, basically parks football, in this case the fixtures must be compiled manually not an easy task but their are only a total of 32 fixtures for a full list in any one week (excluding extra lge cup games) so for a senior lge this is very poor, over the season their are a lot of cup games but majority of clubs involved have floodlights and could catch up very easily. oh sod it i,ll do it!!
