A very good result over at Wootton. They have a very good strong side this year. I was pleased when newport got a 1-1 draw over there. I am pleased with Newports win at SL Corby, even though i missed the game

Buckingham brushed aside
A very impressive performance from a weakened Raunds Town first team saw the Shopmates pick up three points for the first time since the beginning of November.
Raunds started off with an energy that never ceased throughout the game, and after just 5 minutes there had already been two near misses. In the seventh minute Jake Upton had a shot blocked, and Callum Ridgway fired the rebound over the bar – while a minute later Buckingham tested stand-in keeper, and manager, Colin Ridgway for the first time.
After good play down the left between Danny Frid and Jake Upton, a number of dangerous crosses were delivered into the penalty area, one of which was touched in after 21 minutes, yet the linesman raises the flag for an apparent foul. The rest of the half saw domination by red and black shirts, Matty Curtis threatening with a number of headers, Daniel Thompson creating chances, and Callum Ridgway getting another two shots on goal.
It was Danny Frid who produced the highlight of the first half, though, when a 25 yard dipping shot beat the keeper and hit the crossbar. After a rare shot by Jamie Russell, another defender, Lee Dorrington scored at the back post on the stroke of half time, only for it to be disallowed again, a foul the given reason.
Raunds came out in the second half with the same attacking mentality, and Lee Dorrington this time made his name onto the score sheet after a Thompson cross fell to him for an easy header. Two minutes later, Matt Curtis built on the lead after casually taking the ball around keeper Reece Kirk and placing the ball into an open goal.
An hour into the game, and Buckingham’s second shot on target formulated into their only goal of the game, and brought the score back to 2-1. This triggered some substitutions for the Shopmates, and ten minutes later Matt Curtis bagged his second and Raunds third of the game from close range.
3-1 down, Buckingham started to pick up the tempo, yet also let their discipline suffer, a number of bookings were handed out in the late stages of the game as the away side thoroughly disgraced themselves. Three points well deserved for Raunds.
Key Players: Matt Curtis and Daniel Thompson
