Let me correct the note regarding the change of Chairmanship at St Neots Town. The previous incumbent did NOT resign, (nor was I the vice chairman) but was overtaken by a course of events mostly of his own making in that during this period he was declared bankrupt, did not tell anyone and therefore contravened the law by continuing to act as a director of a Limited Company. All of his former directors resigned, including the Company Secretary which left the SAINTS operating, in a technical sense ,with absolutely no proper officials. The shareholding within the club meant that despite a number of efforts it was previosly extremely difficult to change the direction orf the club and put it on a proper footing to ensure progress ie Stamford,Woodford and Spalding.I was invited by another shareholder to return to the Club as Chairman, which I did and we now control in excess of 70% of the shareholding but have inherited considerable debt. It is the intention of the new board of directors to clear this debt by the end of January 07 and to endeavour to stay within the premier league this season, although the latter will not be easy.A number of new directors will be appointed within the ensuing weeks and if all goes to plan the Club will be placed on a sound footing for the future.
It will not be easy, but the GOOD news is that we will be meeting the developers on 3rd January 07 to discuss our new ground where we have just signed a 125yr lease for them to develop a new 2.5 million pound football development for St Neots Town constructed to Football conference south specifications and which will include (courtesey of the District Council) a full size flood light all weather pitch. It will be a truely wonderful facility for the town of St Neots which was almost lost due to the total incompetance of the previous regime.
We want to put a smile back upon the faces here and hopefully win more games than we lose !!!!
