Watched this top of the table clash at Olney and what drama!!
Jarvis equalising in stoppage to nick a point for Thrapston. Joe will definately be the happier manager cos it was looking like they were heading home with nothing.
2 very good attacking sides and i must admit i was impressed with Olney. Played nice football on the floor and they have 6 or 7 really decent players. They were absolutely gutted at the end. Will be interesting to see how they respond in their next game.
Well done to both sides for a superb game in nigh on gale force conditions.
Once again though i've got to say that the ref and one lino got 2 decisions badly wrong. The 1st with scores at 0-0 was when CJ was through but flagged off side. I was virtually in line and he was at least 2 yards on. The 2nd was a shocking 2 footed tackle by one of the Olney boys, he should have gone.
Now before you all start having a go cos i'm slating the ref and his asst's, i know they have a really, really difficult job on their hands and i would not do it for love nor money but when you see decisions made that are so wrong it does make you wonder what the hell they see. With the offside it was definately the case that the lino looked across after the pass when CJ was clear. If it was tight then fair enough but it was not even close to offside.
Asd for the ref, you saw the 2 footed tackle and you bottled it, comments from you please!!
Oh and while i'm whinging on, i popped in the clubhouse for a cuppa @ 1455 cos i saw at least 6 or 7 other spectators with poly cups with tea or coffee only to be told by a young lady that they don't serve till h/t. When i pointed out that all these others already had their drinks i was told "well they shouldn't have" and i was refused. The urn was boiling, the tea, coffee and milk were right in front of me, it would have taken her 15 seconds to do as she was doing sod all anyway. I think Olney Town should maybe book her on customer sklills course because she was clearly lacking any, bloody jobsworth!!!!
Anyway i think these 2 will be up their at end of season along with Kempston battling it out.
