Dosnt sound so good for those owed money by Rothwell, lots of people inc players, managment etc owed as well as major creditors. but looks like the little guys get screwed over as usual. Normally i would always want clubs at our level to survive and prosper but Rothwell would do everyone a favour by shutting up shop and leaving decent football people alone

I asked the question originally because those I spoke to who went to the meeting seemed unclear as to any details, other than they were told there was no option other than to sell to Brook House and then declare themselves insolvent. Last nights paper answered some questions in that it seems a future meeting of the creditors may result in some of the little guys getting some money back - one hopes. The ET also states that some other group MAY come forward to re-open the social club. What happens if they don't ? Presumably this group wouldn't/couldn't be the reformed Rothwell Town 2011 ? So would this satisfy UCL requirements ? Do they get a points reduction ? How are they going to pay the lease and all the other expenses of running a club at this level ?

Rothwell Town have sold their Cecil Street ground to a junior football academy – but it has not come in time to save the Hereward Teamwear United Counties League Division One club from Administration.
Members of the club`s committee agreed the sale of the ground to the Brooke House College from Market Harborough for £215,000 at an EGM.
But the money raised from the sale does not cover the cost of the club`s mounting debt and insolvency experts Marshman Price have been instructed to serve as administrators.
Club treasurer Keith Panter said: “The move has been approved by the members.
“The ground has been sold to Brooke House College and will be a base for its football academy. They will give us a lease to continue playing our games there. This was the figure that the ground was valued at but it doesn`t cover the debts of the club.”
A meeting between the administrator and creditors will be held in March.
It will then be decided how the £215,000 will be divided among people owed money by the club.
Rothwell Town have been beset with problems in recent months.
Last week two youths appeared in court and admitted breaking into the clubhouse several times in the past two months, causing thousands of pounds worth of damage and causing home matches to be postponed.
Brooke House currently has about 220, mainly foreign, students studying there of which 40 are there for football.
The academy sides play against youth teams from professional clubs and have recently faced Leicester City and Hull City`s youth teams.
It is currently based on all-weather council-owned facilities in Market Harborough but has been looking for a permanent base of its own to play home matches.
Despite the threat of administration to the club, first-team manager Dave Williams said he was pleased Rothwell would continue to play football in the town.
“It is a positive thing. It has to be good that the club can remain on site and continue to play football here.
“The company who are buying the ground are intending to utilise the facilities and that won`t impact on the club playing here.”
The new owners do not intend to take advantage of the social club facilities on site, but are open to a new social club forming and operating from the site.

The all weather pitch you mention Gav is actually owned by Harborough Town FC and not the council, and they also had an agreement with Harborough Town to use our pitches and facilities, im guessing this wont happen now they have purchased Rothwell, which if true will mean a loss of money, but will mean the pitches get a bit of rest from the many games they play on them.
It would explain why a couple of Brooke House lads that were training with us are being encouraged to join Rothwell Town instead though

haha... thats ok messenger :-) it seems they are still using our facilities and all weather pitch (we have a 3 year contract with them) but it is the pitches they need, owing to the weather we have not been giving them our main pitch to use...
Im sure more information will come out in the fullness of time

I started the thread as I have frequent discussions with Bones fans and was curious/anxious as to what was happening with our neighbours. There seemed for a while to be a deafening silence. The big difference is that I wouldn't presume to question their decisions and/or tell them how to run their own business. Thanks for your advice but I think I can manage without it.
