it's 'Smyth' Put this to bed now: "I both officially and unofficially have no derogatory opinion on Whitworths, and I wish the club, Sarge, Matty & Meds every success" END OF! Just not tomorrow I have done no dirty or cunning work to sign players. FYI, players don't leave a club if they are happy there, and no one can force anyone to sign for them. I know why and how the lad signed for Whitworths in the first place and I know why and how he signed for us, no mystery's, and no dirty moves by either club. To be honest he's not the 1st player to move clubs is he? Or is it just because he joined me at Thrapston? We would be happy to explain the process to you if you want to come and speak to me, or him tomorrow face to face? You have a very high opinion of what I can do if you think I can facilitate three clubs, their managers, players and officials like that, grow up. Cowboy may have an opinion on this also? I expect a really tough, tight game, and so it should be it's a local derby and it's UCL football.

A game all the players are looking forward to and share a few pints after the game Thrapston need the win to keep the pressure on Kempston Whitoworths want the win first to move up the league and get one over Joe. Not clear and cut who wins the midfield battle will win the game as both teams have strong midfield's. Scotty 8 is this the person who played for whitworths left the club slags the club off then re-joins? Not the first to do that thou to be fair. Lets hope its just a good game.

I can't speak for anyone else but I am certainly not bothered about Joe and getting one over him. I am interested however in getting one over Thrapson but no more than BPW, Wootton or Harborough. They're clear favourites and so they should be. We're still rebuilding the club after the beginning of the season and are enjoying the task. Joe did a great job at Whitworths and is doing the same at Thrapston. Good luck to him. The transfer had no complaints from me, he trained twice, didn't feel like he fitted in so he left. Good luck to him. We certainly don't want players who want to go somewhere else. The midfield battle will simply be immense tomorrow and not for the faint hearted....roll on tomorrow!!!

Well said Cowboy, I feel the same, 3pts are what we both will be looking for, and whoever gets them will have to earn them.
But it's all about the players, and there are some very good ones involved tomorrow, on both sides.
Should be fun.

Joe Smyth (think i have got that right) is an excellent manager. Possibly, maybe one of the best organisers i have come across and that bearing in mind i now work at BSP conference level.
I am not sure what the future holds for Thrap or Joe but i hope he gets a secong bite of the cherry at the prem division but with a budget that is more in line with anything outside the top 5 or 6. When he was at Wboro, the mess they were in was unreal.
Joe has got faults like all of you (not me lol) but he is brilliant at what he does.
As for the lads sarge, med and matt at Whitworths, they are superb lads and what a great club. Probably my most enjoyable spell in football.
I wont be able to watch the game tonight but i hope its a cracker and will tune here for the afters.

Well deserved point for Whitworths. Not many teams stop Thrapston playing their fast, flowing football but tonight they just could not get going as Whitworths matched them all over the pitch. Gotta say that the sending off was absolutely ridiculous but luckily it was so late in game it didn't spoil it. Also want to add that it's been a couple of seasons since i went down Whitworths and i've gotta say how impressed i was with all that's been done. Puts a lot of Prem clubs to shame who would rather spend their money on player budgets. Well done Whitworths and good luck in the future.

Watched this one and got to say if you were unaware of league positions you would not believe Whitworths were so far down the table or that Thrapston were title challengers. As "Upgreenwith" said, Whits were a match in all areas and I think showed more desire and will to win. A much improved team since my last visit earlier in season who arguably should have won this with probably the games only clear cut chance from open play that young centre forward put past post. They also had one cleared off line from a corner. Having watched Thrapston a lot this season they were very disappointing not even managing a shot on target with the home keeper given a very easy night. Jarvis was the only threat all evening and him, the 2 cenrtre backs and keeper are only ones who put any real effort in. Again got to agree with Upgreenwith that sending off was a bit harsh but I suppose correct. All in all a typical local derby that wasn't great for the spectator. Only winners last night - Kempston

Disappointing game really on a bloody cold night.
Whitworths defended very well and matched Thrapston man for man. I thought Thrapston were poor from the final third, they defended very well also but really lacked a spark up front.
Like i said in a previous post Whitworths should not be where they are with the players they have in the club.
Lets hope they can now finish the season strong and then re-build for the start of the new season.
Whitworths ground looks superb, well done to all the people who have worked so hard in getting the ground to such a high standard.
good test to see how Thrapston now react from friday's result, as they now fall further behind Kempston in the title race.
Should be an interesting finish.
