I see Huntingdon Town FC have announced a new chairman to take over from Hans Reif & it appears that the new man coming in is indeed very ambitious & has already set a target of 2 promotions in 5 years. With the current form Huntingdon Town are in at the moment under new manager, it appears this could well be achieved. It just now needs the more local's to venture up to Jubilee Park & offer their support. Fantastic facilities + big plans.....it looks like very exciting times ahead at Huntingdon Town FC. Any thoughts ??

Good luck to them, but I suspect Eynesbury will be a much stronger side/club next season and Plumy will be looking to do better than this season.
Also if they get promotion next season and with only one side going up from the Prem its still a big ask, (I know they have said 2 in 5) especially with Pagnell, Buckby, The Linnets, PNS, W'Boro and Boston to name but 6 plus maybe Spalding who will be big contenders over the next 2 seasons. But its about momentum.
The Prem is a very hard league to win St Neots have only lost 4 games in 2 seasons and have dropped only 13 points all this season so far but only secured promotion with one game to go.
I am not knocking the ambition as they do have good facilities and a great catchment area etc. With St Ives hopefully progressing with their new home its great for Huntingdonshire football. As a consequence the standard should improve.

I agree tolleymania. One thing which both Huntingdon and St Ives could both do, is improve their pitches. It was very noticeable on Monday, just how well St Ives played on a good pitch! I think that the new Chairman at Huntingdon has a hard job ahead.

Promotion from division one in their first season back in senior football, just as Yaxley did the following season. Don't knock ambition, it is healthy.
Both those sides also had to start their life in Division One, unlike yourself' at Kings Lynn, so Lumpy, no cheesy grins just yet fella.
You may just find next season as hard..and the next etc...This league really isn't that easy to get out of.

It has already been identified that the pitch needs improving as it has not had any work carried out on it for 4 years as the priority has been geeting out £1.1 facility built, the new chairman has authorised that major maintenance on the pitch is to be carried out this close season. As for two pomotions in 5 years is a target set and we no it will be hard as only one team is promoted from the premier, with St neots promoted this year, Kings Lynn will surely go next season which we then put us on a level playing field from then on, so 5 years is a relistic goal and only time will tell.

I am knocking no-one in this league,we have had some very good games, hard fought against formidable opposition,i have had a great first season,as have many others. As for starting in div 1,if that is where we had to start then that is where we would have started.I think you would have to say we would have won that league by christmas, that means one less of the teams that got promoted this year would have done.Looking forward to the new season already, well done everyone. ;D

Lumpy, again your clubs conceit goes before it, would you have won it by Christmas? Because in division one, could you have attracted the players that wished to compete at that level, rather than the league they ended up in.
Who knows?
Nothing taken away, this season has been a journey for all clubs, I wish you and and all clubs a rested close season, and a push on for the next.

I think we would have attracted the players no matter what league we ended up in,wasn't trying to sound conceited, just think we would have won it,some of our players were announced before we knew what league we in,so i don't think they would have backed out.To be quite honest i hope there are battling teams in the league,we ran St Neots close this season, and i would like another close one next season, but with us going up this time.I am looking forward to welcoming you all to the walks next season, and visiting you all, will have to be good to top this season. ;D

I think that many people who knock KL on here probably don't understand (or are not willing to accept) that KL is not a typical UCL club. They have a phenominal supporter base - always have had and whatever the playing level, I'll wager they would have the financial clout to attract good players. The club is run on a sound commercial base on which to build a successful team.
It's not arrogance on their part - it's business and they create and sell a prodcut to a market that wants it and is willing to pay for it. St neots do the same but their supporter base is smaller than KL. There are a handfull of other UCL clubs who are capable of following suit (Yaxley included over the next couple of seasons I hope) and at the same time want to keep their "local" roots and support that has been with them for years.
It's an impossible balance to please all of people all of the time ... and football supporters are no different. It's been an incredible season ... Good luck to all clubs and bring on next season :-) Jeff
