I do feel very surprised that Sileby have done away with not only the reserves, but also the under 18's what a pity that such fantastic facilities will be so under used, maybe they don't want football played there at all

My understanding is that sileby has great facilities, but runs second rate to the bowls club there... wouldnt be suprised if they get kicked out in the next few years...

Well not a great start to the season, but if the manager has to run the team, raise funds and maintain his full time employment, you cannot expect too much, at least that is what is expected of him.

If the manager had any sense, he'd get people on board to do all the stuff that he can't juggle around his job so he could crack on with getting together a winning team!
Rubbish excuse!

Never been at Sileby! Yes, have been involved with Bugbrooke, not anymore.
I didn't say it was the manager's opinion - I just merley pointed out it was a terrible excuse as to why Sileby had such a shocking start to the season!
Sileby will not get promoted this season!
next........
Even longer way to go for Sileby, and I'm not your friend! :X

It is quite obvious Chopperla you have not been at Sileby or you would understand that it isn't as easy as you might think with the current hierarchy controlling everything, as you may know did have a very good second string also an under 18's which would be an asset to any club at ucl level, they disappeared on a whim. Ask around you might be in for a surprise.

Not wanting to cause a affray or problems with Sileby Rangers, but its very clear from our experience on Saturday that the bowls club does indeed treat the footballers as low life. There was only one bowls person who was civilized to us, the rest acted like a bunch of self righteous snobs! Therefore; Dear Bowls club, We are very sorry to have got in the way of your badly timed 3 course meal arrangements and general lowering the tone of your club by our presence!!

Obviously not a pleasant experience, however as you know only too well life isn’t exactly easy running a football club. Sileby have clearly spent a small fortune on their ground which looks fantastic including the “bowls like” playing surface, so credit to them for something.
This is a punt but judging from the comments on here it was a financial decision regarding the u18.s and reserves and the funding of the first team appears to be down to the management!!::.
So I guess as a club the bowls and other organisations & functions generate more income.
For me it just goes to show that in too many cases a “few key people” are holding some if not the majority of clubs together.
Stick at it Sileby!

Quite agree cookie a fantastic ground, just love that pitch it belongs in my back garden. Yes it is hard when there are just few running the football as well, same here at KP land. But we were disappointed in the treatment from the bowls folks thats all. To me its a kick in the teeth for the football folks there thats all. I sure the grants that were given out there were on the basis of 'sports for all' and not just the bowls. I too wish Sileby well and stick to thier guns.

Well at least the bowls are over, perhaps one or two of them can turn out for Sileby just to get a feel of the green for next season. At the begining of the pre-season the manager said he had a very good squad, I think on reflection he was somewhat optimistic, they have thrown away matches with some very abject defending and woeful finishing.
