Wellingborough Town v Sleaford Town

All the very best to our boys for their opening game of the new season against Sleaford Town.

The lads have had a great pre-season, (apart from last weeks blip against Aylesbury).

The lads have been training very hard all pre-season, and have been putting in a tremendous amount of effort in everything they have done.

Absolutely delighted with the squad we have, now have strength in depth. Gunna be interesting what Robs 1st team sheet will be.

All the best to our guys for the coming season, fingers crossed we can get off to a great start this season. Will be tough though.

Great start for the boys yesterday winning 6-0 against a very young looking Sleaford Town.

Our goals came from Jason Turner 2, Michael Boyle-Chong, new signing Phil Cassidy, Mark Redding and Luke Cray.

The lads played some great football during the match and worked very hard getting the ball back when Sleaford had the ball.

Sleaford did create chances during the match but found once again Shaun Markie very hard to beat.

Their manager kept encouraging their team which did look as though they had some very young lads playing for them, they all battled very hard and showed good team spirit, and a indication of that was when they were 6-0 down one of their players shouted out to his team "suck it up Sleaford we fight right to the end". Fair play to him and his team for that spirit.

Once again very pleased with our lads effort and determination in what they have been doing especially yesterday.

We travel to St Ives tuesday where we don,t seem to have a very good record against them. It will be a tough game as they will be looking for a response from their 4-0 home loss against fancied Long Buckby.

If we play to our strengths and play our football we should be in for a great game.

Looking forward to meeting the St Ives fans, always have a laugh with them.
