Speaking with my Groundsman's Hat on, what do Clubs reckon will happen this summer. Most Clubs seem to spend a fair bit on pitch renovation through the close season, will this still happen with the Hose pipe ban or will some just save on a possible wasted expense. It's going to be a gamble with the finances or does someone have a cunning plan to get round it. The "usual" vertidrain, reseed and fertilizer may cost around £1,000, will it be worth it if wecan't "make it grow". Just a thought.

Yep that is a worry Kevin, put the seed in, it will germinate, cut more and vertidrain autumn, but you know that. We all have to be responsible citizens. We might just get lucky with rain at the right times!

I was wondering KevinB, do you think whilst Long Buckby are under blackout conditions they will be sneaking the hosepipe out under cover of the night? I think next season its going to be a thread bare unless the monsoon season starts soon!!

They wont need to water after dark, they have barrels full of urine, well they are taking the p*** out of all other teams with their floodlight fiasco.
