The first of three games where the promotion candidates do battle is upon us. Huntingdon go into the game unbeaten in thirteen and have taken maximum points in twelve of them and will be looking to Latvian striker Niks Savelneks to continue his fine form. Rogers,Blackwell and Drane are all into double figures for the season and this shows the goal scoring options the Croms have on the pitch. Bugbrooke are also in fine form winning five and drawing two of their last seven games and will be looking to avenge their 2-1 defeat at Jubilee Park in December. They have Ady Redmond bang in form, hitting five in his last two outings, whilst Nick Worley has put his differences aside and returned to the fold to claim three in his last two. This looks like being another close encounter and hopefully there will be a big crowd to witness it.

With it looking as Huntingdon and Bugbrooke getting promoted as Harborough not making the ground grading before the March 31st deadline, the last 5 games should be interesting with Huntingdon having to play Bugbrooke and Harborough, also with Bugbrooke and Harborough playing each other on the last game of the season. So it could be all over if Huntingdon with those two games or it may go to the last game of the season, may the the best team win.

Bugbrooke 1 Huntingdon Town 0 A hard fought win for the Badgers down to wasteful Hunts forwards, dogged defending and top goalkeeping. HTFC could and should have been out of site at the break but lacked the killer instinct in front of goal that their fine approach work deserved. Bugbrooke hit the post on a rare break into the visitors half. The sucker punch came 5 minutes after the break when Ash Bradshaw headed home from close range, HTFC continued to have the majority of possession but ran out of ideas and were pretty clueless in front of goal as the game wore on. Bugbrooke were more potent on the break and once again hit the woodwork. Overall HTFC were the better side but the cheque book will need to come out again to find a hitman. Should they get promoted they have a side that could compete in the prem already, as for the Badgers plenty of resilience and willingness but lacking in many areas. Rumours afterwards were that the HTFC chairman bought all his players a drink afterwards but they all left some - they couldn't finish them either!

Not when, we have 31ST deadline not made by Harborough.

A good point, who out of the 3 received the required grading for promotion on the 31st March? No good looking afterwards, you either had it on the 31st March or you didn't.... Unless of course all those clubs in the Prem and 1st do the required work on their grounds by the date at the expense of players expenses only to be undone by those who didn't and who then claim an unexpected delay......
The lack of clarity in this every year makes this league seem less than transparent....

very disappointing to lose yesterdays game, but the league and promotion is still in our hands and thats all you can ask for at this stage of the season. i think most from bugbrooke would admit that the best side lost yesterday, but its all about scoring goals and thanks to some great goalkeeping and woeful finishing we ended up empty handed. fair play to our hosts though.they had a great work ethic, fantastic commitment and stuck together to the very end and for this they got the goal they feel they maybe deserved. it makes it a very tense last 4 games for the 3 of us at the top with it all to play for and we will pick ourselves up and be ready for another tough game away to bourne on monday. bring it on!
