Could be the best thing that's happened to Englands World Cup hopes for a while.
Capello will not take Bridge in order to keep squad harmony and instead take a 5th striker.
I am not sure if you have seen the pictures of her, but you would wouldn't you?

Yes i have and yes i would !!! Esp the one where she is wearing the kinky boots But I'm not the England skipper. For me there is no way he can skipper England and i think he should resign rather than let Capello make the decision, which he undoubtedly will... Having said that, it does look like the affair started after Bridge had split up with her..... Therefore, it then becomes just a bog standard affair which lots of people have... If he has not officially shagged a teammates bird then hes in the clear but it is only a matter of time before something else happens with him, thats why I'm voting for him to resign or be sacked as skip. I hope he resigns.

Does resigning as skipper make a difference as after all he'd still be in the team/squad?

Bloody right it does, as a skipper you are the main man for trying to keep team spirit and harmony within your squad. Your the gaffers 2nd in command who smoothes over any grievances players may have.
For me the issue is all about the dressing room and respect within it.
JT has been involved in one scrape too many this time, there is no way Capello will keep him as captain...
Great player though, one of our best. I think the next talking point should be, who is going to be the next skipper ?
It is only a matter of time...

England skippers should surely be role models for kids. John Terry should 'jump before he's pushed'.

Foz, even resigning or being sacked as skipper still has him in the team - football-wise then the most affected person would be Wayne Bridge as Capello would find it easier to leave him out of the squad. Who could replace Terry anyhow? It's not as though the likely candidates have an unblemished past is it? Rooney,Lampard,Ferdinand,Gerard all have history...Ferdinand is currently banned for violent conduct. I agree though, Terry should do the honorable thing and resign, publicly apologise to his wife and family before Capello considers repicking him. Imagine how he'd feel if England do win the World Cup and someone else is collecting it instead of him?

Some valid points there Kev and i agree about the antics of the others. Rooney was a young lad when he slept with a beautiful woman of the night So he is worth a go and he is arguably our best player who will win the worlds best player next time. Maybe this is the time to put this England captain thing to bed, as reported Capello does not see the fuss in the need for a permanent one and in local semi pro level a permanent captain is your club captain... Is it time to pick your best 11 and your captain from that? What do other countries do ?

I'd be concerned that having the captaincy would affect Rooney' erm, 'manner' on the pitch and would take something away from his armour...at the end of the day if Terry is deselected as captain there's always Becks....

The Irish tried to turn George Best into a saint!!! A wife beater, alcoholic, adulterer, who shagged everything that walked. It takes two to tango and if keeping JT in the ENGLAND squad wins us the world cup he can shag who he likes, when he likes. Other captains----Rio is a drug cheat----Stevie G---Beat a bloke up in a club while on tv--- Rooney caught in a brothel with a granny,--Beckham caught out ,Who else is there? .Come on,get real, its football not sunday school. Did not the late, great Bobby Moore have a moment with an air hostess out in South Africa and left his wife for her in the end and one last thought---The future King of England is an adulterer and he will be crowned a King and head of the Church of England, now thats a thought!!!!!!

Come on Sixties Deep down all us old boys would love it to be that way, i know i would But there is a line, god knows i have crossed it many times !!!! The thing saving him i believe is the fact this bird and Bridge were no longer together when it started Kev, agree about Rooney and think your right and also with Sixties that the rest are a waste of space.. Thats why i asked about doing away with the permanent captains job and just picking one from the 11... I wondered how other countries pick their captains.....

Is the captaincy so important to place it on one individual? Share it around as Capello did to start with. Ask yourself who was Man Utd captain on Sunday against Arsenal? Ferdinand? Rooney? Giggs? Scholes? Nope, it was Evra-not exactly a natural born leader I suggest.

I agree, is that England captaincy thing a touch outdated like some people argue the monarchy is... My personal opinion is that the queen is very nice but i would just pick one from the 11
