Congratulations to Vic at desborough on his long service award from the northants football association. Can someone At Desborough tell the program editor that this award took place as there was no mention of it in today's program. I do recall when said editor was presented with his award it was mentioned on several occasions. I am sorry but this is a disgrace!

Hello Reg, You haven't been online to criticize any of my posts or to question my involvement with DTFC for a while...... ;D The arrangement for Derek Vurnam, the NFA President, to make the presentation to Victor was only arranged at short notice.... I was only notified on Friday afternoon..... and I can only guess that by the time that all the details of the presentation were finalized the programme had gone to print. No doubt there will be something about the presentation in our next programme against Shepshed. Oh and congrats to Victor on picking up the well deserved award!

When asked how he felt after the presentation, Victor replied "all bills are paid but I have no money". A real treasure(r).

It would be helpful if our "anonymous" Reg determined the facts. 1. Victor would not be available during part of September so that was not an option. 2. We all felt if the presentation could be made earlier than October, it would be best for all concerned especially VP 3 The game against Harborough was re-arranged at fairly short notice. Being a local derby, the game would be better attended than a normal one. Thereupon the NFA Secretary was contacted. He was personally committed on that day but tried to find a top NFA official who could attend. This was finally confirmed on Friday after the programme had gone to print. It would clearly have been nonsensical to put in the programme an event which might well not have taken place. 4. The next programme will contain a piece on this. 5. A notice had been placed on Friday on the Clubhouse door. The presentation was successful and Victor was very pleased, which is the main criterion.

Just imagine what chance I had asking for pocket money - "All bills are paid but I have no money". Heard it for 39 years......
