We had a referee, a Mr R Parker after 5 minutes he pulled our lad over and told him off for his bad language, 5 yards from the touchline, so that crowd and bench could hear him.
5 minutes later same lad swore, referee told him next time he would book him. upshot was, no problems from any players rest of the match.
cant be doing with these refs who say they will let the game flow until it gets too niggly, if they let the players no there will be little or no tolerance at the start, everybody, bench included would know where they stood (or not, as the case may be)

yes too much abuse and swearing at referees and it has to stop of course.
No one abused Mr Collins until he lost the respect of the players ie F off ref by a huntingdon player directly to Mr Collins his answer.. I dont think he meant it so I wont book him. Come on now he gotta go! (the player and the ref!!)

Just witnessed a decent refereeing performance by Mr Ray Freeman - thought it was worth a mention.

How bad are the UCL referees? Does everyone feel as despondent at the referees performance every Saturday, is it time these people beamed from another planet every Saturday lunchtime are named and shamed.

I am pleased to inform you that the problem of bad referees on the ucl is soon to end as you will no longer get one if the current exodus continues. You might be interested to know that at present 75% of UCL referees are over 50 and with no young officials coming through the current shortage will become a famine.

You might be interested to know that at present 75% of UCL referees are over 50 and with no young officials coming through the current shortage will become a famine. This has been alluded to earlier in this thread footy ref and I don't think anyone on here is going to argue with you. No one is saying that it is an easy job and that the bad habits UCL players have are filtering down from the upper echelons of the game. Maybe our competition can take the lead and do something innovative to help build some bridges between players, officials and even supporters. Any suggestions

;D Have just witnessed the best refereeing performance of the season at the Burton PW and Blisworth match. Take a bow Mr Aidy Johnson ;D Ably assisted by his two club linesmen.

I second that, he took control of the match and was treated with respect and he also treated players with respect. Agree also re linesman a credit to their clubs!
