Sorry about the late reply- thanks for your kind words Sal. We were a bit disappointed with the result last week we thought we probably deserved a little more out of the game although thats football!!! On the debate of Needingworth entering the league- it is a shame that the application has been withdrawn especially when over the years we have proven to be a team that is more than capable of playing in the league. Yaxley, Eynesbury, Huntingdon, St Ives are all teams that can vouch for that im sure! The problem now being that following promotion to the Cambs Premier the only place we can then go is into the Ridgeons league- we would prefer to play in the UCL but if they wont have us what choice do we have!

Dont understand why you believe the UCL wont have you? thought you had withdrawn your application? promotion / ground grading / promotion etc is laid down by the FA and would be the same for UCL or Ridgeons.. are you saying its different?

Im of the understanding that the Cambs Premier league is a feeder to the Ridgeons League and as such we wont be able to join the UCL?

You cannot join the UCL from the Cambs Premier without special dispensation as they automatically feed the Eastern counties League (Ridgeons) but you could have joined the UCL from Cambs div one if you had wanted.

yes but as stated before the league required all the ground improvements to be done in 2 months - i think they should have be given at least a year - our loss ridgeons gain in the future

It seems quite ridiculous that the club can't choose which league to be promoted to, especially given the pooling system that is being introduced across the higher levels of non-league. I believe Godmanchester Rovers played the system when they applied to the ECL from Cambs Div 1, to avoid actually having to finish in a promotion spot in the Premier Division. Could Needingworth refuse promotion to the Cambs Premier, so they can apply to the UCL again next year? Or even apply to switch to the Peterborough League Premier, so they can be promoted to the UCL from there - I hear Ortonians may be folding at the end of the season, maybe they could apply for their place?

first we huntingdon did the same from cambs senior A to ucl avoiding cambs prem and then the ridgeons iam not sure if they could refuse promotion if they go to the peterborough league they have to start in div 2 talking to needingworth i think the main problem still lies with all the work to be completed in 2 months
