Can anyone get their head round this? ? Huntingdon Town U18s recently beat St Ives u18s in the Hunts County u18 cup semi final by 3 goals to one. St Ives fielded 11 players and had 4 subs on the bench. one week after the match, Huntingdon received a letter from the Hunts FA demanding that the match be replayed. The reason: St Ives claim that they were told by a member of the Hunts FA that one of their players was ineligible because he had played in the Premier cup. Although he could have played. Town were not told there was an appeal, and only knew about it when a letter turned up about the game being replayed So are we to assume that (a) St Ives officials don't read the rule book (b) that any match can be replayed as long as a Hunts FA member tells you something is wrong (c) is it right to penalise Huntingdon, because they beat the team presented on the day ( for the 3rd time this season) just to get the Hunts FA of the hook. What do you think?

sounds a bit dodgy to me but it would be interesting to hear the official Hunts FA version of events.

Thanks for the feedback, Total shambles is not a good enough description of the Hunts FA. They are affectionatley known locally as "The coffin dodgers club" They wont even tell us who was involved in the decision to force the game to be replayed, we have not received any apologies from the Hunts FA for what they admit is their error. Another question: if this game is replayed to accommadate this player, what happens if he doesn't turn up? can we all go home without playing? ?? answers to Mark Frost, secretary, Hunts FA. if you expect a response, it will probably be written on the back of a postage stamp but don't hold your breath for that. whats more astounding is the Hunts fa have said that as it is their error they will pay for all officials from fa funds, but are unable to rescind any cautions recieved in the void game (for which there were 5) so all fines are still to be paid .....effectively meaning that they are not out of pocket.
