12.10 on Tues night/Weds morning and still no results on the supposed UCL official website. The League keep pushing clubs to be more professional, yet they can't reach the heights they are setting themselves!!
Come on sort the results service out once and for all!!!

That old chestnut, still doesnt answer the question does it. Clubs phone results through to the league prob latest 10pm on a night game, the guy taking the calls has obviously volunteered to do the job because he wants to, you dont see the officials on the UCL change very often! What happens in the next 2 hours with them results, what should the league be doing but surely looking after there 'own' site first.
And yes I would be happy to upload the results on to the website but by the time the results guy e-mails them to me he may have well done it himself.
Like I said clubs have do to things by a certain time or be fined, when it comes to the standards the league are setting should they not lead by example?

you dont see the officials on the UCL change very often! I believe the Secretary changed last year, therefore causing a space on the committee to be filled. The chairman has changed in the last few years Like I said clubs have do to things by a certain time or be fined, when it comes to the standards the league are setting should they not lead by example? The results are rung through to the Secretary who collates them and rings them through to the press Secretary, who then updates the website in the process, so if any club is late (which does happen) it slows the whole process down

Blimey Blissy have I touched a nerve As I am the only one raising the issue and the rest of you are happy with the service then I am obviously in the minority. Perhaps certain peoples standards are not as high as others.

The thing is Mr Rover, we have had this conversation at the inception of UCL Chatter and decided that we would not duck from being critical of the league if we had to, but (and it is a big but) we also had a responsibility to promote our competition in a positive light.
Posts which are critical will always get a response of "fine, that is your opinion, can you help us make it better?"... But you have ducked that one.
Whilst this is not a members only forum, I feel you would get a more positive reaction to your comments were you to register and be accountable by email or private message for your postings.
We would all like the results to be on the website and on the radio as soon as possible but for that to happen we must all pull our weight.
It's not about standards, its about the UCL committee doing their best with the resources they have. In my opinion things have got much better in the last couple of seasons. You disagree, which is your perogative.

hi Diamond there are a lot of people proud to be associated with the UCL and member clubs.
There is constructive criticism offering a more balanced view of just how hard people work on behalf of others for no reward other than for the love of the game. my personal opinion is your comments dont offer that.

blissy I raised a criticism about the results service being poor and if standards are set for clubs surely the UCL should endeavour to match that.
As you don't know anything about me, I will just let you know I have been involved in UCL football for over 15 years and spent four years on a project that at one time virtually cost me my paid job. This project by the way raised somewhere in the region of £3/4 million pounds for my club. So I know very well about people working on behalf of others for no personal gain other than to give something back to the game they love.
I always believed web forums were created for people to air their views about topics that concerned or interested them. If your happy with the 'service' than you are entitled to say so but without the need to lecture people about getting 'involved' when they have an opinon that differs to yours.

Point taken Rover, but we have been here before and it doesn't get us anywhere...
