This has been without doubt the worst day in the history of this website.
Not only are we flooded with unconstructive guest postings, you now get personal abuse for trying to moderate them and point out the forum rules.
With that in mind, no-one who is not a signed on member can now access the forums.
I think we all need a bit of time to cool down and assess the situation.
The least we will have is members only, the most we will have is no forum. melodramatic? maybe but when I set up this site I hoped it would be to share conversation with like minded people about the UCL. Not to spend part of my working day deleting posts which are personal attacks on other people.
I have plenty of other things I could be doing.
So apologies to those of you who didnt want us to have to go down this route, but I had no choice as those of you who have seen the posts which were deleted (before I got to them) will understand.
I am a lot of things, but I am not a 'thing' as I have been called today on more than one occasion, and I will not waste my time and my moderators time in dealing with these sort of people.
I would suggest that those of you who do want a forum where swearing, libel and name calling is acceptable go and set up your own.

Well said Jimmy. Shame when a few spoil it for others!
Most club Message boards are members only anyway.

Here jimmy i don't understand how you come to the conclusion I called you a 'thing'. I was highlighting the fact that so called 'Jed Ainge' guest used the word 'thing' and commented that this was point that moderator should have intervined to stop. You are right we all should cool down and assess.

Skip, I have no problems with any of your postings. It was a guest who started that name calling.

Thats ok, its been quite a debate which forums should generate, unfortunately some overstep the mark. Perhaps there should be a referendum on 'should there be guests or not?' a straight vote and review every 6 months. what do you think? members only only course oh I see you already have! in the whats the next stage

What was the nature of it? Were they attacking you because you're a Yaxley fan... are fingers being pointed at Kettering do you think? Considering it's coincided with the FA Cup draw; and of course they have many fans, so in all probability have a few aggressive Idiots?
Perhaps this is only a temporary measure? I hope so. Guests do have a valuable in put. It may just be a case of keeping it members only until the nuisance people have forgotten about UCL chatter??
