With reference to wellingborough new signing. This thread which caused some controversy and was described as boring, yet in 2 days it had 52 replies and staggering 847 views. Although I'm not pleased with some of the content, I did, however, find it very amusing which is how it should taken. But again it has raised the issue of censorship and members only, ie no guest. So Why oh why just because certain people don't like the content they start to call for a ban? There are, in my view, a number inane and pointless threads on this forum, but do I want them ban? No, freedom speech I say. If you don't like watching something on the TV just switch over or off, not ban the ruddy thing. What is it, the ghost of Mary Whitehouse or something? However, coming back to the content I thought when the word 'thing' was used this was the point at which the moderators should have stop it under the terms of use. I'm going to be ban for criticism there I hope not? Just let it flow people

yes it is, you can talk about anyone in a bar, clubhouse, training session so why not on here?
I agree that there are far to many old women on this site!! if you dont like a thread dont read it!!! Simple
Why do you moan all the time and try to get ppl banned?
i also dont agree with locking a thread!! why is this done? If ppl want to talk about a subject why do you stop them???
i think its a case of jimmy thinking he is god and only letting you talk about what he wants to talk about!!!
This message prob wont be on the board for long now that i have said that because certain ppl wont like it!!
FREEDOM OF SPEECH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

so its ok to say anything about anyone? No I'm not suggesting that. There are conditions of saying things on this forum which must be policed which was the point I was making with the word 'thing'. It was at this point where I felt it could have been toned down. The forum should, within reason and the rules, providing it is not slanderous, false or blatant sh*t stirring, express the true views of people. This is what a forum is about. If those people want it sanitizing to just one view then it will becomes a boring predictable waste of time! just let it flow

You run a much greater risk by allowing drivel to be posted and lose credibility.
We all have a responsibility on here to the UCL. To promote it and be positive about it.
What do you think a potential sponsor would think reading some of the absolute rubbish that has been posted recently?
If you dont want sanitized, on topic, positive, grown up discussion then I think you are in the wrong place.
And if the general concensous from UCL fans is that they don't either, I suspect the moderating team and myself are wasting our time.

When you start mentioning Mr Blair, You know you are on to a loser ;D
if you went somewhere that you wanted to with your family, a friend , advertiser etc and somebody said or did something you didnt like would you walk away and say 'its there choice to do or say what they want'
no you know you wouldnt, if it offended you or you felt it would offend the people you were with you would say something and also try to make sure it didnt happen in the future.
Too many people walk away, when the right thing to do is, say hold on this isnt acceptable, IE Swearing whether written or @?!#.
Lets keep some standards eh

Cuckoo I couldn't agree with you more. You and I have had some interesting verbal disagreements both on this site and others during the past. I cannot remember either of us reverting to the bad language tactic. It is not necessary and should be stopped right now. The problem with the persons concerned is that do not know much about FOOTBALL or the English Language.

What i cant understand is why cant the regular GUEST posters register as members anyway? Is it they have something to hide? Or is it that they cant be bothered and are poeple really that lazy? The odd guest i found had some valuable opinions and i think would of been taken on board more seriously if they were members! I know i value the Opinion of members more so! Im sure we have been here before! Where the Whistler when you need him (Im sure someone has said that before)! ;D

The main reason why people go on as guests is quite simple you can say something controversial and not be blocked for it. May I remind all what you did to JOHN E WEST this year that was awful thing to do to a genuine nice bloke, he was upset about that. Then some of you then ridiculed the bloke for that.
I restate my view be controversial as long as it is not slanderous, offensive by bad language or be racist and malicious etc.
So some of you guardians of the forum should take a long at your conduct before you judge us!
Shall we drop this now?
