as a Lynn fan i'm not saying what happened was correct. for me, i seem to remember team bath tried this against us but there player ran at goal, we didnt complain or i didnt. I for one tho cant see how some of you can say that the Lynn fans should hang our heads in shame. Luke did it, ref gave it and you know what, even if it had happened to us, I would have still gone home and slept easy that night. Its done, its happened, nothing can be done about it now.

'loopylinnet' is quoted on here for saying GOAL OF THE SEASON. Now that says to me he supports the incident. Maybe his name is relevant. ! Not many listen to him on the Linnets forum,so may be trying his luck on here. ;D

Read all the posts and it is a dreadful unsportingly way to go 2-1 up in a game.
Seen all the stuff written about Thrapstons reaction which may not have been good but aftyer seeing the poor elements of KLTFC at Deeping last year and other places i can tell you something for certain
Had Thrapston done that to KLTFC.. The offending player and the 3 officials would all be doing a massive Forrest Gump head down out the ground, do not pass go, do not collect £200 followed by the Lynn lynch mob and it was have descended into far more chaos than what was witnessed. FACT!!

Saintsrus......think they just know what buttons to press to wind most of you up and you all bite. I do notice NO-ONE on here has replied on my post with the example of diving in (which is unsporting).
Confused.com, so you can attack them but only if it's a Lynn player??

I would have thought the whole purpose of the modern game of football is to cheat or doupe the referee into giving dodgy decision. After all what's the difference in winning a penalty by falling over a blade of grass left too high by the oppositions groundsman and this disgraceful example of bad sportsmanship by the player himself?

13/02/99. FA Cup 5th round. Arsenal won 2-1. Att: 38020.
The game was replayed despite Arsenal winning as their winning goal was ajudged to have been scored unfairly. A Utd player was down injured and the ball was put into touch. From the throw-in Arsenal didn't return the ball but went onto score. The referee allowed the goal despite protests from Sheff Utd.
Arsenal in the spirit of sportsmanship offered to replay the game; an offer that was accepted by the Blades and sanctioned by the FA.

Like I have said previous, and your statement is correct that the kL goal was perfectly legal, but very unsporting, but its what we have come to expect as controversy does seem to follow the team around throughout the seaon. And yes its clear that some people post on here just for the banter and a reaction. But im happy to draw a line under my comments as nothing is gong to change. Legal, but not in the spirit of the game, and those who try and debte or defend that, have no place in football either.

The answer is none! (I would have thought that answer was very obvious) What is obvious as well is that all players should never assume that the obvious, in this case sportmanship, will take place because some players, driven by strong ambition, will stop at nothing to win. A hard lesson learn by Thrapston. Raunds have learnt that they will always be known as the bunch of p*** heads who were sick all over the Linnet's pitch New Year day last year. ;D Hey Grissley chops? ;D

Having watched that goal a number of times now, its only bad sportsmanship if it was the player's actual intention to score. Since I'm not a mind reader I can't comment on that. It could well be the player saw an opportunity for the keeper to make a mistake. Opportunists goal I would think, certainly by the posture of the player. Keeper was off his line by some distance, a error in which no doubt he never do again. Football is about taking opportunities or liberties and we have all been on that side, so why we creating such a fuss about it I don't know? Hic, Hic
