Is it time to try and get some more posters into the fold? The forum seems to be very quiet.
Could it be time to talk again to "official" UCL website and see if they are more agreeable to talking to the forum admins nowadays? (if that hasn't been tried again already).
Other than that could those of us that post on individual club forums spread the word? I see that someone on the Newport Pagnell one has a link to this site in their signature.
The site is a great resource for UCL fans and despite not being the admin anymore I still take great interest in what is written on the site and how it is perceived.
Anyone got any ideas on how to move forward?

This forum has provided some enjoyable banter over the years and is ok for some information on occasions however let’s be fair it seems that most do not want to be associated with some of the more “problematic” postings.
In the words of Paul McCartney “Let it be”
It will get busy if there is something to say.. If not well maybe things are better than we think?

For this forum to be 'alive' members need to be able to tolerate and see the amusing side of its more outspoken personalities.
To be fair, i think members do but some admin do not. Admin may think that they are protecting other members and are doing their jobs properly, but it is only football at the end of the day. There is never going to be anything said that is personally upsetting.
I loved this forum about 18months - 2 years ago when the lad SuperScully was posting. He was a breath of fresh air to the forum as was On The Ball. There have been many others also.
These guys just have a different type of banter to the norm but its all good fun if you do not take it personally.
Admin and members can dream up as many ideas as possible to get this forum buzzing again but the fact will always be that deep down members like the characters. While these fellas are continuously banned then the forum is going nowhere unless there has been a major talking point in a game at the weekend.
I am not sure who is in charge of this forum but i would like to know if there are elections so that new members can join. I feel like i have much to offer in this area and could find the right balance in members and topics that would make this site great once again.
As a member, i am proposing myself as a new leader or part of this forum.

Anyone can register I think... they dont have to be approved by an admin once they have been checked for multi personas.

From FF "To be fair, i think members do but some admin do not. Admin may think that they are protecting other members and are doing their jobs properly, but it is only football at the end of the day. There is never going to be anything said that is personally upsetting." I think he just made a very good case for [glow=red,2,300]not[/glow] being a "new leader"

Why don't you do it then Cookie? Very easy to be critical of those with the metal to step up to the plate Are you telling me that people/members get genuinely upset to the point of starting crying at another man's thoughts and opinions? There will always be a touch of needle but never to wrist slitting proportions As a member, i would like to know how i officially apply for admin status. Is there anyone out their who can explain this procedure please ?

My first thoughts on this forum were fantastic, what a great idea and signed up as soon as I could. I felt that it provided a much needed place for news on the UCL & clubs however since then Mitoo provides match reports, scorers and teams for Premier & division one matches and the results are usually up within a couple of hours of matches finishing. For postponed matches they are again flagged up ASAP so saving travel to matches or phoning clubs. www.htucfl.com provides all the news on clubs, league and competitions! The coverage is excellent. So things have moved on and this forums role has lessened. It became a place for opinions by anyone that wanted to comment on anything. Sadly it seems that the result of this is that most people involved in clubs tend not to post, perhaps because it can trigger responses that are far from positive. For most things happening in the league there is a process in place which is centred on club secretaries contacting the appropriate league official so again no need to be posting on here. What I find counterproductive is someone vetting their frustrations in an open forum without thinking about the consequences. I do believe this is still a good place to raise issues and opinions from a supporter’s viewpoint even if it is to seek an answer and in particular the discussions on ground grading and FA etc. Most supporters will get information from their clubs secretary / chairmen and goodness knows clubs welcome such discussion and input.. Maybe even a little help too. Hope that explains my views a little better.

But the forum is struggling and needs fresh blood, James has said as much... Absolutely, but just because I said it doesn't mean everyone agrees. For me I always wanted the site to be active with news, views and relevant content. But it could be that the admins are happy as is, and if that is the case, respect to them for that.

But we all know its not as good as it should be or has been in the past. Few are using the site. Never be afraid of change. Some fresh blood and talent, we could have a forum with good info, quizzes, debates ( intelligent and non intelligent !! ) Some factual pages on clubs history, spotlight of the week, game of the week, reviews and interveiws... Sounds a little more interesting than at the moment

so could we say that with the admin and moderators permission we should be trying another push at promoting the forum within our clubs?
The challenge in the past was that all of the mirth and banter was off putting to new members and kept the UCL committee away from recommending us in any official capacity.
Like it or not, it is that which we need to solve.
