Just got back from a game which quite frankly I won't forget in a hurry. Nobody throughout the entire United Counties League would have predicted this scoreline and in all honesty neither did I. King's Lynn were poor today and definatley were not the side who came to the Waterworks and beat us 5-0 back in December. Yes they did have some good chances to win the match, especially when they hit the bar, but I feel generally on the whole we matched Lynn and at times outplayed them. Sadly I couldn't celebrate too much at the Walks as I was the only Desborough representative in the Director's Box, which made it feel a little surreal that I was the only one clapping when we made a substitution and cheering when we equalised On a personal note I would like to thank everybody invovled at Kings Lynn Town for their professionalism and their kind hospitality throughout the day. I couldn't fault it one bit. It is very rare that Desborough Town are the main talking point on the U.C.L Chatter forum or the facebook page but I think you will all agree that Steve Walker, Gordon Kyle and ALL of the players deserve every bit of credit and praise they recieve over the rest of the weekend.

Couldn't have put it better myself. I enjoy the trip to Kings Lynn, so here's to next years visit, and I hope it's as enjoyable as today's visit.

Watched the game today and thought Desboro were outstanding, no bones about it they came to defend and play on the break and they did it brilliantly K.L..could not break them down. There has been an amazing turn around at Desboro and the management and players deserve a huge amount of credit.

There was a small Desborough contingent opposite the main stand (small in number - not necessarily size) and we did not restrain ourselves from cheering on our team. It was a fair result. People should give us credit for good performance, instead of the Lynn were rubbish/did not turn up comments. We didn't go into the directors box or partake of any hospitalty as we didn't get asked. The people on the gate grudgingly shouted out our pass numbers and ushered us in, without a word. Having said that there was a friendly reception inside with no problems. Found it very strange that when we equalised, scores of Lynn supporters started streaming out of the ground with still 20 minutes to play. Very odd !

PS I hope Lynn get promoted. They are the only UCL club that has the facilities and more importantly sufficient support to make promotion sensible and sustainable.

Porthos, When I got inside the ground I just pointed out to one of the Stewards that I was from Desborough Town, showed him the league pass and was then escorted into their "President's Lounge" Ironically before the game one of the King's Lynn officials told me that on several occasions that season visiting club officials had came into the ground and had not made themselves known. Don't get me wrong I did cheer Desborough on and on several occasions shouted out "Come on Desborough" but It's a bit different when your in the Directors Box sitting a stones throw from the King's Lynn Chairman than standing on the terraces.

Disappointed not to read any comments on the match from the many Lynn fans on this forum. Thought Desborough were superb today. Yes they defended in numbers, but were very well organised, and totally bossed midfield. Lynn fans will always be quick to critise their team rather than praise opposition because our expectations are so (too?) high. Borntobewild. I've got a feeling your wish may be coming true.

Incidentally has anyone been scanning the forums to see how many of the 14 Step 5 leagues have possible champions that have applied and got grading for the 12 promotion places? If it comes to places available for runners up Lings Lynn will head that list for points scored.

Well done to Steve and the Desborough Town team for getting a draw at Kings Lynn. Steve's a top bloke and I know how hard he's worked to secure Ar Tarn's future on the pitch. Also good to see those gone missing in lean times deciding to come out to play again to confirm a point gained at The Walks is the highlight of the season.

Well if it means that much to you....good to see things dont change at the waterworks Foundrymankev, Please do not think that everybody at Desborough Town have the same attitudes as Porthos. Many thanks for your kind comment congratulating us on our result at King's Lynn and I look forward to the traditional Boxing Day match at Occupation Road.

I'm afraid desboroughvp is not aware of the history of foundrymankev. Once again he comes on here making snide baseless comments. This time about people going missing in lean times, whatever that's supposed to mean. I could go on in great detail, but it would serve no useful purpose. I would suggest he confines himself to topics concerning his new club and keeps his nose out of matters of which he is completely ignorant. Better still Admin should ban him once and for all.
