i understand Huntingdon town are to play Cambridge united this Tuesday at jubilee park KO 7.45 pm i heard that the huntingdon team will be managed by the Peterborough premier div champions ortonians manager and his team will wear the huntingdon shirts
was told on Saturday that current manager at huntingdon was not interested in himself or his players playing the friendly so the club had no option to ask someone else
surely this can not be correct as any club would love a friendly match against a conference side
if this is correct town should get rid of the current management as soon as possible

found out last night down the local pub that it is true and that rob newman at cambridge had asked for the freindly and not the club asking them
town should now get rid of the management if thats how they feel about the club

If thats true, why are the Town committee advertising the match as Huntingdon v Cam Utd. Surely it must be Ortonians v Cam Utd. Anyway I hear Ortonians will be playing in red/black next season and calling themselves Huntingdon. Where does that leave all the good youngsters at Huntingdon? Short sightedness seems to be the buzz word at Town. " lets get a manager in who wont give the committee any grief" Mark my words, Town will throw more than a manager away if they aint careful

town need a complete change - look at the first team - 4th from bottom again - reserves 11th in the league is not exactly progress - how many more years are they going to keep saying - a great young team but still in the bottom 4

whilst i understand you saying 'how many more years are they going to say a great young team' its fair to say the committee have started to address this an were as far as i'm aware going to disband the under 18s after their first 2 disastrous years. they brought in mick hunt who assembled a new management an coaching team who set about rebuilding the under18s. these people brought in a large amount of under 16 players an finished midway in their table an hunts cup finalists losing in a closely fought game with yaxley. however the fact is that some 5 players have featured for the 1st team this season an 10 for the reserves at in some games. they now have a further 12 under 16s coming in for next season an are trying to get some continuity into the under 18s which in turn will benefit the reserves an the 1st team. so in answer to the how long will they keep saying it all i can say is 'watch this space'

The Ortonians team representing Huntingdon Town last night did the Club proud. Cambridge won the match 1-0 but were made to work all the way for it.
Despite the torrential rain, the crowd were entertained by a fine example of 'pass and move' football - something not witnessed at Jubille Park for quite a while.
Bring on next season !

can't weigh it up. Ortonians run Cam Utd close in a 1-0 game with "pass and move" football, yet can't beat the real huntingdon team, despite trying in the cup twice over the last couple of seasons. funny old game aint it. still I suppose it depends what standard cufc watcher is used too.

has any1 thought of the fact that town have a game saturday, a local derby monday, a semi final thursday and a game saturday? I thought not, dont need to be playing worthless games against a conference side. I really dont understand all the flack Gary Ling gets, the club would be lost without him. The season could have been a whole lot worse than it has turned out to be. Whoever is always on here giving negative opinions about eveything should look at the wider picture and get behind the team instead of sl@*in them off all the time. I suspect its a town insider who dont have the minerals 2 chat 2 the management or players themselves!
