I see Weldon knocked out BPW. Anyone watch the game? Thought it would be tight but did fancy Burton to be honest. Also any news on other fixtures? Nice to see Whitworths hit form as we have them next week!

2nd hand news - but i believe Bugbrooke beat Spencer reserves 2-1. If the Burton scoreline is true i would have thought that the manager could well be able to spend more time with his family pretty soon.

I diid predict the Weldon win on the other junior cup thread last week
First prediction ive got right in years
Will buy a lotto ticket tonight i think !!!
Being serious though , this was a horrilble banana skin as there are some good things happening at Weldon at the Moment
2O years ago they were a top side locally with good tradition .
They have a plan to reach the ucl in the next couple of seasons and have my old Cottingham Manager and former Corby Town boss Rob Dunion managing the team
Also a couple of old Corby players including an old friend of mine and Ex Corby Captain Gary Kennedy is playing and Des Elliot is also playing in goal
I spoke to Kennedy 2 weeks ago and im sure he said Stewart Marshall was playing aswell although im not 100% sure about that because i have so many conversations about teams and players that my head is mashed !!!
Anyway don't think the Burton boys ( carl and andy ) should beat themselves or the players up over this result
Was a classic banana skin away from home

Oh and i suppose i should say well done to Whitworths !!!
I wonder if Jamie Black was playing like ive been saying he should be ?
You see , even through a forum im still helping pick the side .
I know Figo still reads this site , i wonder after this great win will he come out of chatter retirement and lap up the glory
I do think people miss his cheesy - ness
Alan Partridge style
Where are you Figo ??

I could be ucl watcher!! But i am not a quiter!! We should have won today and thatwas with no striker!! I had to play up front from 15 mins!! (i aint played for a year) The battle and determeinetion was there but just no goal. Fair play to Bob Dunion and his boys they took the one chance that we gave them.
I aint no quiter

well what great day . 4 - 1 up to dav town at half time , not even i could believe it really . 5-3 the final result and there no one who could say we didnt deserve it . after the 5 - 0 thrashing a few weeks ago u never know what to expect but i can honestly say my lads was first class yesterday and made me a very proud man . i allways new they had it in them and at last we look like we are starting to gel . also the loan keeper i had turn up left at 2 oclock because brackley made him go to there trophy game . that left me to don the gloves for the afternoon . enjoyed it but will leave it to the experts in the future . great to be the first team to beat our local rivals .

Charlie , on this site and apart from anyone at dav town you are probably more able than anybody to gives us your opionis on town .
I dont know too much about them this year but this is what i think .
I think some of the furore surrounding them is over hyped , i think some managers who have been beaten by them are bigging them up too much .
I dont think they are that much better squad wise than what they were last year ?
I think they have just had a better start to the season than others and that can chop and change plenty over the course of a season with any team if that little bit of luck deserts you with injuries , suspensions , and decisions .
I certainly dont believe they will run away with the league infact i dont even think they will win it .
I could be wrong with all this of course , just my opinoin and interested to read your thoughts on this

Jamie started last 2 SS, got injured early last week and did enough in 1st 45 yesterday to give someone else a go. On current form in for good I would think................I am sure Joe is pleased you are still helping him

well scull what u say has a lot of truth, when we got beat 5 zip down there place i mostly blame myself as the formation and starting 11 was all wrong . we cant say they are a bad side but they no world beaters , the big difference last week was that we got at them and never give them an inch . they lack pace through the middle of the back 4 as they play goodwin and ady in the centre . both very strong and good aerial but pace does get the better of them , midfield , they have little strength and are small , very good if given time to play so naturally you do a tight job on them . yes the forward line is quite dangerous , good mate of mine dan finners seems to be geting better as he gets older, very strong and given space will punish you . as for tom b im not sure , very quick feet but lacks pace over yardidge mossy seem to have him done for pace but then again he not that slow . all in all if u fit enough and want it that bad then get at them . they got weeknesses and ther a few sides who can make them look ordinary so yes they will take some stopping but it can be done .
