TOLD YOU TO WATCH THIS SPACE.....
Town delight at £1m handout SPORTS Huntingdon have been awarded £1million of funding from the Football Foundation to develop Jubilee Park.
The money will enable the joint venture, between Huntingdon Town and Huntingdon Rowdies Youth to develop a new pavilion containing six changing rooms, a first aid room, kitchen and a committee room.
They now need to raise a further £100,000 to get the project off the ground and board member Hans Reif, who is also chairman of Huntingdon Town, wants th.community to get behind the project.
He said: "This is a fantastic award for our two clubs and the site, and we hope that the local community will help us raise the remaining £100,000 we need to go towards the total project cost of £1.1 million.
"If we can, it will achieve the aim of providing better facilities for all our players and the whole community."
The two clubs are hoping to begin work on the ground in the summer and will be holding a series of fundraising events in the coming months.
Sports Huntingdon chairman Ray Deans said: "This is what we've been striving for for many years and this money means that both clubs will be going from strength to strength.
"And it will mean more and more children in the area, both now and in the future, will benefit for many years to come."
The Football Foundation's chief executive Paul Thorogood said: "Sports Huntingdon will now be able to play an even bigger role in developing the grassroots game in its area.
"Since its launch in July 2000, the Football Foundation has funded 33 projects worth over £4.3m across Huntingdonshire, and we welcome more applications from the region's schools and clubs."
The Football Foundation is the country's largest sports charity and is funded by the Premier League, the FA, Sport England and the Government.

You didn't get the Desborough job then MB ? Not surprising people have let you down to come and play up there in the lovely wind and portakabins but especially if you are looking at dates from last year...... Think you mean Saturday July 19th and 26th....
Always a pleasure

Thanks for that pointer was looking at mondays dates .... however can play on the dates as well ;D From what I heard David Williams got the job! As for the fixtures - its away games we are looking for...... Funny heard alot about these winds you mention and to be honest not been as bad as I was expecting as for the portakabins - just temporary now as you know - just incase you missed the write up and you need reminding - here it is just for you ! ;D Town delight at £1m handout SPORTS Huntingdon have been awarded £1million of funding from the Football Foundation to develop Jubilee Park. Thats probably why you put 'sat' in front of the dates which of course mean monday to you as you are always so far behind.... Didnt miss the essay you posted on here but Ive never heard of £1million helping to stop the wind unless of course you are planning to build a 20 foot high wall around a very poor playing surface to stop it....the portakabins and the delightful clubshed will be still in use for some time though....yipppeee. You are such good value MB as you always bite ....your nearly as bad as 'Tad' - the manager of Bugbrooke - whose just given up now as he is not intelligent or smart enough and can never really argue with the truth. Good luck with the ground though ...whenever it may happen and be completed....until then it is still an awful place to visit. I heard that you now have Irn Bru on tap over there..... ;D
