in the last ten or so weeks i think whitworths reserves have made great progress seeing them in the botom 3 to potentially coming 3rd. They seem to be doing something right there with the 1st team also being successful. The efforts of the reserves seems to have bin gone unoticed in the division though. The manager has done a great job turning the team around with more or less the same bunch of players

Interestingly there has been a change in performance since 1 or 2 of the U18's were introduced. U18's look a really good prospect for next year.

The "Corby Scorpion" has done a great job (and he has no problem telling us about it!!) he may be short, fat and round but he knows his stuff and the boy's listen to him. If they dont listen he smashes them! The introduction of some of the U18's has added some energy and pace but a couple of old (very old in Sarge & Wezza's case ;D ) have certainly helped. I hope he remains in place next season.

Scully has done a fantastic job and as they say 'credit where credit is due'. Bit harsh the short comment though!! Ive found that if you make the team scared of you they listen sometimes as well!!

Yes fantastic job in the Reserves now up to 4th in the league. You cannot compare to winning the Div 1 title but the transformation has been very close. Well done Scully, hope you are still around next season m8.

Thanks judge john , Ive really enjoyed being at the club and if i decide to go it will be a tough decision which would be purely based on travel and nothing else, everyone Ive met at the club has been good to me.Also i would just like to add that the reserves had already lost 6 times in the lge before i came.I'm not trying to blow my own trumpet BUT i do own one!! Thanks to everyone- i hope the reserves can finish strongly and get the decent place finish the lads physical and mental efforts deserve.

I know all about that bloody trumpet as well!!!! ;D With luck we will find a solution for the Corby Scorpion to stay, although with all the grief he gives me I am not sure why

Singing our own praise here I know but only 2 defeats in the clubs league programme since 30th Sept 06. Away to Sileby Reserves and Cogenhoe Reserves. How many other clubs in the UCL can say that?

in the last ten or so weeks i think whitworths reserves have made great progress seeing them in the botom 3 to potentially coming 3rd. They seem to be doing something right Could it have anything to do with the fact that they are letting people play golf right next to the pitch and the opposition are scared of getting hit by a stray ball?? One nearly hit me on Saturday!

To yorkshireman , What we do with them stray golf balls when we spot one is put a name on it - dont let it bounce -big header and send it back where it came from!! To judgejohn, your stats would seem to add up as i came in around october time! Also you can blame figo for them as it was the only 2 times this season he gave me any 1st teamers , so i actually class my own record as UNBEATEN!!!! 2000-2100PM TRUMPET PRACTICE!!

He is right though cam. The team that went to Sileby had loads of first teamers and got hammered, the team that deserved to beat Cogenhoe (had first teamers also) and lost 1 zip, certainly had a couple of 1st teamers including Patto in goal. Can't fault the record even if he is trumping it around

Fair enuff cam , i never brought the subject up only responded with some facts that the whitworths hierarchy(the judge) may have overlooked! We have 5 very tough fixtures left and a few injuries plus I'm determined to use all the reserve squad/u18s rather than use 1st team who only have a game left , this way i feel the lge table will reflect the players/people who put themselves up there to be shot at and will give us a better understanding of where/how the fringe/u18s players are at and developing.Personally i think mid table but if we brought in some 1st teamers this would arguably improve our final finish,it is something i out of principal will not do but i would be interested in others views on this. Play them or not play them??

In my opinion don't play them? It boils to down to what your club see's as the purpose of the reserve side....to supply the first team and be a back up for them....to bring on fringe players and gain youngsters experience??
At cogenhoe we have had the same bunch of lads from the start to the finish...with the odd one playing a first team game or two but other than that not much change in the side...this is probably a contributing factor to our success so far this season?
Also when a ''firstteamer'' has played on the odd occassion this has been because they are returning from injury and normally start on the bench...
so as for what you should do it's up to you ..... but .....beat spencer for us!!
