Like Judgejohn, I am full of admiration for how SS has turned around whitworth Res. He must have his tongue firmly in his cheek however if he believes that his team are on par with both the club's first team and Sleaford. Anything can happen in football on the day and I would expect the Res to give a good account of themselves on the day. (They may even win). Leagues however are won over a season and not just one game and both Whitworths and Sleaford unreservedly deserve their acheivements this season. I would say however that having watched a fair amount of Div 1 football this season I seriously believe that Whitworth Res could have held their own in this division. Looking forward to the mindgames between Figo and SS leading up to the game. Just hope that its played in the spirit it deserves to be played in though

Sorry to see you are definately off Scully but very best of wishes with Corinthians. I think this proposed match (if you get it on with Joe) could be your swansong and in the meantime I will review the disciplinary data but to be fair it wont be as bad as previous years though it has been better.
I still put my money on the 1st team though and should they lose they will be next years reserves... ;D

Great game last night and congratulations to Scully and the whole team for finishing with a resounding 6 - 1 against Woodford. Also congratulations to Carlton who scored his 40th goal of the season last night in another 4 goal haul. looking forward to seeing him in the 1st team next year for sure. Looks like the game is off, shame really I think it would have been interesting to see 32 goal fozzie v 40 goal Carlton

Another resounding win last night with the team playing some great football. Carlton's third goal was something else. Best of luck SS at Corinths although I don't imagine for one moment you have gone there with a view to running a Res Div 2 side for too long!!

There is no gossip on this front so lets not even go there!! Frank will get the same support and enthusiasm figo has had and vice versa.Whether you play or manage res div 1 or 2 the targets are still the same, developing players, bring through young players, building moral/team spirit and providing competition and depth for the 1st team.If i can do all these things for another season or two and if the 1st team job came my way,i know i could do it.If it doesn't then i will review where I'm at and what I'm enjoying/doing in that current role and take it from there, but that could still be 2seasons away.I also would not rule out a return to whitworths as a 1st team manager in the future, you never know whats around the corner.I have loved my time there it has been superb BUT its to far to travel for reserve team football.Maybe one day ill be back..who knows

it will be interesting what lads follow scully over to corinths as they have all experienced what a great job he has done and im sure he will go on to do bigger and better things. Everyone seems to respect and respond to his demands and results have come from this so i just wonder who will want to continue playing under him

I can confirm that only the 2lads that came with me to whitworths{fitz/pete} will also be coming to Corinth's.Joe is aware of this and as Ive said before there has been nothing underhand at all and Joe will confirm this as he implies under the thread "superscully". Also in that thread he talks of a good structure to the reserves having already been there before i came although the league table at the time did not suggest there was one, however i know for certain i leave the reserve set up with a great balance and structure and also a much stronger mentality which means the next man in there WILL DEFIANTLY NOT be able to blame the previous manager for{something i took pride in making sure of} if things do happen to go a little pear shaped at times next year.Whitworths res are now in fantastic shape and there can be no excuses from the next man in, or figo.

Great job done scully and I am sure you will bring those Corinths reserves back to the 1st Div at the first attempt. Not rushing into any fast appointments with Whitworths reserves though I am sure the platform is set for whoever comes in to win the top honour next season, I certainly think it was there for the taking this year but for that start. Anyway see you on the 19th

Thanks jj and looking forward to the 19th. As for winning lges the season gone or coming was/is not actually my priority.Of course winning is great but can also sometimes paper over the cracks{not that there was or is any at whitworths}, and CAN be overrated-it certainly brings different types of problems of which figo will start to encounter now.I have not won anything as a manager yet in the ucl but i speak from my experience of winning nearly all the trophies in the combination{a more junior level i know in some peoples eyes, though not a huge difference in mine}.Different jobs/clubs/teams all have different situations/goals/targets, some are more higher/lower/DIRE than others and this is where my challenges and priorities stem from-looking at it sensibly!!! I was happy to finish 3rd in rd1 as winning it was an unrealistic target considering we were 3rd bottom when i joined and in a dogfight, and getting out of it was my only target.Next season my priority is to bring through many young players for the future while also trying to build moral of the existing players who are a little battered and bruised from being relegated, so its a big challenge and winning the lge is perhaps little optimistic esp with bringing in quite a few 16yr olds who need time to learn from their mistakes.I look forward to my next challenge of bringing in some kids and making them a force for the future.See you on the 19th

yeah yeah yeah figo I'm still here , didn't think wed hear from you for a few weeks yet after shamefully bottling the big game between 1st team/res..JJ back me up on this, your an honest man?!! As for Fitz and Pete they are looking at breaking into 1st team so will prob be without them , but i am honestly looking forward to working with much younger players as Ive not really done that before AND anyway Ive got a big signing from whitworths who is going to be my captain and provide that drive that the young boys will feed from. Curious figo??
