It is true that the game will not be going ahead and not as a result of scully pulling out so draw your own conclusions . I am interested in the big name signing as your captain though Scully considering Pete and Adam were the only 2 going with you . They will be missed at Whitworths for sure and I hope Pete has a better year with injuries m8.

Regarding new appointments, still going through the approval phases but I am sure Joe will confirm his new backroom team when he has concluded all negotiations. Certainly no shortage of approaches made which is excellent news for how far the club has come these last 4 years. As for an Italian Stallion and Freezers..............I am clearly either too old or further in the background than I had thought because I do not have a clue what you boys are talking about.

Macca will have to pound the streets or he wont be able to get to Rothwell!! seriously he's a good lad and I am sure will do well for you, he may even break into the 1st team. As for the Reserve Manager job at Whitworths, I have interviewed a couple of candidates who I believe will give us continuity and consistancy going forward. I am a believer of the "many hands" & "light work" theory so there will be 5 people involved a manager, ast manager, trainer, bag-man & lino. Still finding a replacement for the Scorpion was not to hard, I had three chimps from Whipsnade and the homeless guy from the town centre apply (all looked better than him as well! ;D ) ;D ;D

To the silentassasins , i think your great whoever you are ?? to answer your question - Of course any decent manager has an irons in fires but there are several wboro boys currently at corinths so the 15min journey will not be a problem. To Figo , We both know how hard you tried to keep me and financially the club tried its best but it was never going to be enough.. shall i elaborate?? As for replacing me and from what ive been told today - it looks like you settled for the chimps from whipsnade and instead of a "bag man" you have hired the "bag lady" from the town centre!! Also figo you need to work on your memory as your new man in is the guy you told me 3weeks ago "could never manage a football team" ha ha talk your way out of that?? and i have a witness {WEZZA} who can confirm this!! Take the p**S out of me at your peril FIG ROLL!!! See you soon

superscully it doesnt matter who i am. i am looking from the outside in or is that from the inside out!!!?i have heard and seen the job you have done with the boys down there its no wonder they wanted to financially support u to get there and keep u there if this is how i read it(corrected me if im wrong). but if this is true and there is money to be had there it will be intresting too see what some of the first team superstars have to say. or are some if not all gettin there share of the spoils. well figo!!!

Lets nip the finance one in the bud straight away. At this time I still control the purse strings and there is no money to pay people either fee's or travelling allowances that I know were suggested. Any funds we can raise will be used to on ground improvements and provide the players and the management team with as I term it 'the softer stuff' that builds teams ie tracksuits, bags and this season training kit, hopefully fully subsidized. The management team will also this season get kitted out so that they look a bit more professional. Whilst I have had the financial responsibility, the only player expense we have paid was for a coach to the Sleaford games that we no longer have to pay and a coach to Boston when we drew them in the cup a couple of years ago. If the decision is made to pay then I will be leaving. I have no issues with Figo and Scully having a go at each other, dissappointing as that may be, but do not drag the integrity of the financing side of the club into it. Regardless of any discussion Scully may or may not have had with Figo and I do expect reasonably that Figo may have been trying to sound Paul out on what was and was not possible, nothing was discussed with me and ultimately I pay the bills.

Right to clear all this up once and for all.
Scully did a fantastic job at Whitworths Reserves last season and we obviously wanted him to stay, we did everything in our power to keep him but we did not offer financial reward (coz we aint got any!). He has decided to accept the job at Rothwell Corinthians and myself and everyone at Whitworths wish him the best in his new role.
The Reserve Team job is a difficult one at any club as it is all about motivation and development of players and as a support function to the 1st team. With this in mind and the excellent finish for the Reserves last season it is important to try and keep some continuity in this appointment.
I have had a number of people discuss the job with me, and I have thought of a few more but I really want someone who is commited to the club and the cause. With this in mind I will make an appointment as soon as I have agreed my decision with the committee.
Also I wont have a "yes man" as it will be no good for anyone, and anybody will tell you thats not how I work. They will have to work within the structure I have laid down over the last two years because that is proving fairly sucessful, otherwise it is their team to manage.
I hope that closes it.

To figo & JJ , When i mentioned the financial measures you offered to keep me at the club i genuinely didnt mean to cause any offence nor did i realize it was a secret or that the club didn't pay expenses in any way , i honestly mean that and so there was no malice whatsoever in this comment. However I'm very disappointed that you now deny this offer was offered and are making me out to be a liar , THIS IS VERY WRONG and anyone who has dealt with me this season will know this to be the case??? I'm very disturbed by this and will be contacting you. A slip of the tongue by me YES but you could have avoided this by saying that perhaps " some of the lads are chipping in to pay your expenses so you can still come over " . Don't you agree this would have been better and more diplomatic way of dealing with my slip of the tongue i genuinely didn't mean??. Anyway I'm sure this is making interesting reading for others and perhaps opens up "a new thread" to discuss , WHICH may deflect attention away from this unfortunate matter. I hope are banter will continue as i enjoy the verbal sparring!!!!! but I'm a little disappointed by your denials. Could have been handled better.TRUCE??
