to all concerned in the matter of financial payment down whitworths. i honestly belive a offer was made to keep superscully at his post. everyone knows what quality he brings and i am sure the lads whould have chipped in to keep him there. i dont think he was trying to be out of order just telling it how it is. there is no shame in admitting to wanting to keep a good manager by any means neccesasry and i dont think the boys down there would argue or be upset if a offer was made. knowing him im sure he didnt mean any offence or malice. lets hope the banter continues as it is good reading. knowbody here is pointing fingers just puttin there points forward.

Youve slipped up there just like my "finance" blip which upset the lets pretend world of figo , whos porkies are now starting to catch up with him!! Well Figo??? Anyway silentassasins ive enjoyed your company on this site but im soon to call it a day on this website as when the subjects/topics hot up a bit , Some people run out of the kitchen!! how do think mazey will fair next season? he certainly has a squad that will look to win the league and with the extra players figo is signing RAMONE FROM SILBEY : CLARK FROM DESBORO : ALFIE TAYLOR FROM WBORO and a couple of others he has promised first team means that the squad will be huge with quality and TEAM MAZEY will have a fantastic bunch of players to choose from and should look to win res div one by a distance ALL THE BEST AND GOODBYE

im new to this game so need a little filling in. Who got the whitworths ressies job? Did the 1st team actually play the ressies and how many did the ressies win by? What ever happened to steve medlin after successfully guiding the ressies 2 years ago?Did he pack up?Are superscully and figo really mates or is there going to be a falling out?Like i said im new to this so if anyone could shed some light then please do.

Billyboy , you seem like a decent chap so let me fill you in even though i am trying to move away from the whitworths res forum!! Anyway a bloke called lee mayes {mazy} will be doing the ressies next season and i do honestly wish him all the best as i know him , i also think and many have said and agree that the shape and structure of the ressies with players/mentality etc they will be disappointed if they don't win rd1 next year or certainly go close anyway , it is all their to do it . The res v 1st team game didn't happen which was a real shame - as I've said before it would have been their hardest game of the season!! anyway figo shamefully bottled it and that is not even up for DENIAL!!! To answer your question about me and figo , the truth is...that i love winding him up and putting him in awkward situations and watching / listening to him BULL81tt his way out of it!!!! It is fantastic entertainment and i must say he is rather good at it!!!! In-fact i have been playing a belter of a gag on him this weekend and hope hes squirming beyond belief HA HA . As for meds he was joes number2 this year AND was the BRAINS behind the whole operation..thats right figo??? Meds is a good guy even if he is Chelsea but i don't think hes involved next season due to other commitments , altho I'm not 100% sure on that . Myself is off to Rothwell Corinthians to mange the ressies as it was too good an opportunity to turn down , its a little closer to home and it is small but lovely little set - up , i will go their and support the 1st team boss as i done whitworths this year from October on-wards and hopefully build for the future . I hope this clears it all up for you .

The management team at Whitworth FC is Joes domain and he will decide on who takes the reins in the reserves, but there are many candidates. As good a job as SS has done and it is appreciated, lets not forget that SS did not engineer a win against either Spencer or Cogenhoe so 3rd is an excellent finish. It is though time for the club to move forward again and build a squad that could beat the Cogenhoe and Spencers. We changed the first team manager 2 years ago when losing out to Sileby on goal difference to move that step further forward and I believe that decision has been vindicated. The reserves also need to move forward though winning RD1 against Prem reserve sides will not be as easy as winning RD2 which Corinthians should do easily. So good luck SS with your new, but lets face it, easier challenge.

many thanks superscully,it's nice to get a few facts out in the open at last. Personally ive never heard of lee mayes, who has he played for prior to whitworths? Was he any good? As for jj's additonal quote, the evening telegraph stated, if i remember correctly, that the previous manager was unable to continue through work commitments otherwise he still would have been in charge would he not?was he fired instead? the res div 1 league is a very tough league to win, i wouldnt imagine changing the manager every season is wise, would you? continuity and all that. Far from it for me to say how to run a football club, ive never came close,im not knocking your success or having a pop at your methods, im just giving my opinion.Good luck with your new manager, who ever he is..... good luck superscully at rothwell,it will be easier but its another string to your bow.ps i think figo would have taken you anyway!

Wooooooooooo!!!!!!!!! Touchy Touchy again JJ Ha Ha LOL LOL LOL!!! Not my fault if mazey IS going around telling people hes got the job FACT lol , as for beating cogenhoes and spencers - you said yourself on here that res had 1st team in for them games and you backed me up on this LOL LOL LOL how silly do you feel now HA HA HA . As for the job i do in reserve footy , its a damn site harder than any 1st team job and im looking forward to next seasons challenge , esp at a nice clean proper set up LOL LOL LOL , keep firing the shots JJ not a problem theyll come straight back at you HA ha

Billyboy, the last manager was struggling with work that is true and the extra we wanted in order to go forward meant it would be difficult for him. He did a good job though and started the transition along with Kipper. The club has moved forward though and this season that has been due to the work by Joe's team and that includes SS who Joe brought in and Kipper / Mazey with the vets. Continuity is best but the Scorpion needed to be nearer home and goes with our best wishes. Reserve Division 2 will be easier regardless of how you package it and I doubt any manager in the Prem or Div 1 would say their jobs are easier than a reserve job and when SS gets that opportunity he may find that out. Good luck to him though.

Perhaps ive not explained myself properly here.. im not saying that rd2 is harder than the lges above or rd1, of course im not what im saying and ive said it before in this forum {or the superscully one }, is that different clubs are in different situations regarding players , progression , structure etc as not every club is in the healthy situation that whitworths fc is at the moment and i think you are judging all situations by your own circumstances { i may be wrong } . Winning football matches at the best of times is hard enough and i think you under estimate this . Ive been told today that your one and only match as a whitworths res manager a few seasons ago ended in a 6-1 defeat!! Honestly i am not having a dig at you but only reminding you of how hard it can be to be a manager even if guys like myself and to a lesser extent {tongue in cheek} figo make it look easy . At the end of the day a manager is only as good as the players hes got and this determines alot of what happen for us , sure we can improve BUT if you got good players then you stand a good chance . NOW HERES MY POINT... its not eveywhere at our level has got as many good players have whitworths now have and so the rest of us are playing catch up - while i accept you work hard to stay ahead of the game . Ok the finale...my next job even if it is in rd2 is pound for pound a big challenge for me and i expect the going to be very tough , esp with corby town etc etc entering res teams

ok point taken. For the record though, I have never managed at Whitworths not one game so no 6 - 1 defeat. Left as a player 18 years ago and returned to help committee 4 years ago when they were in a right old mess. I did however come out of 15 years retirement for 1 reserve game when they only had 10 players at home to Stotfold. Played sweeper, 2 zip win and only clean sheet of season. Promptly retired again straight after. I know my limitatations. Managing players............not sure that would be a strength for me. Good luck to you though you seem to have the knack.
