Hey Tad, not having a go mate hope you don't think that. Just a bored with the Daren Young bashing thats been going on a few years now. I not saying you are but all i read on chatter is Daren having to defend himself, been going on years now I am not or have I ever been a Daren Young basher. What is fact is the amazing job he has done at Irchester. Many clubs can try and buy promotion at all levels but the truth is you still need to employ the right manager or you fall flat on your face, Dy has proven to be the right manager.

I wouldnt say an amazing job but i agree with your post. Was not calling you a Daren Young basher, i know your too professional to say that in public Only kidding, just find it a bit boring the Daren Young bashing mainly cos it only seems to make Daren worse and then we have to listen to more blarney..whey ;D He's a good football man at the end of the day, just like the rest of us.

Tommyc, i recall reading in the local paper you saying it was harder not to win the NFA junior cup because it was so poor and your team were so good. Did you think that came across as arrogant?

I do hope so!
It was all said a bit tongue in cheek and primarily aimed at our Vince who loves the Northants Cup, but managed to get to a few others as well along the way.
You missed out that I said trophy would be taking pride of place in my shed - must have had a real mischevious head on that morning after the game having had a few sherbets to celebrate the night before.
Reality is that PNS have always treated our opponents with the utmost respect and that will continue to be the case.

someone told me at the beginning of the season to - ''do my talking on the pitch....'' like to think that has been the case so far this season, still along way to go at that.........
I have learned alot over the past few years in the ucl and would do it all again tomorrow.... the biggest lesson is - ''keeping my mouth shut....ish!!!!
all remaining games are cup finals for us now and we will apply ourselves as if they are.....

Went to Huntingdon v PNS on Saturday to see my old mate Pat and couldnt believe it when I found out he had baled out. Good to see that his sidekick had not changed mind. Threatened to break the nose of the PNS left back in the first half in what was not a physical or bad tempered game. Nice bloke. As for the game PNS should have won by about 5 goals really. The fact that thye did not should worry them. Missed chance after chance but I was struck by how laid back they seemed to be. They are bottling promotion big time but dont seem that bothered. They come to Alfred Street Saturday and are not playing well enough to get anything out of the mighty Romans. 2-0 to Irchester for me. They took a number of supporters to the game and they seem to be getting quite dismayed and desparate. Overheard "it does not matter if we come 3rd as Irchester can't go up anyway. Their pitch is too small!!!!!!!!!!!!!". Guys I think Chenecks or Kempston will pip you for 3rd.

''the pitch is to small..'' have no illusions that the ground will be ready, having been inspected by the UCL and FA who have both given us the go ahead...... ;D results will win promotion not chatter.......

Congratulations to Passit, CorbyKen and everyone else connected with Irchester for your win yesterday and with it almost certain promotion.
I think you shaded the game and 2-1 was a fair reflection of an enjoyable competitive game.
Also feel that Roger needs a mention for the common sense approach he took to reffing the game. On another day Tom Moran, Wayne Morris, Steve Julian and Chris Caswell could all have been sent off for various offences (I know - Tom was luckiest!). I know the Irchie lads were getting frustrated at times, but then they are a passionate bunch and I wish we had some of that fire - the ref was excellent and is the best of the bunch in my book.
We just need a change of fortune at some point. Unfortunately the news on our keeper Richard Roberts is not good - he broke both his Tib & Fib in the honest challenge with Paul Caswell in the 14th minute and is having an operation today to put a rod into his leg.
Return with Huntingdon on Tuesday who oh so like taking points off us
