I think Eynesbury will beat PNS Saturday, and put themselves right back in it.

No intention of upping my ante, which as said before is sensible and appropriate for Division 1 - besides my input is via a corporate sponsorship deal arranged through a business I am a majority partner in, on a basis agreed with our Board and was and is enough to have a decent squad capable of promotion.
What others do and spend is their business and good luck to them if they are able to afford more than us. If we are promoted at the end of the season, then regardless of the position in which we finish, we will regard that as success.
Eynesbury were worth a point at our place last Saturday and I agree are very capable of beating us this week if we don't put in an improved performance. Shame I shall be at the England v Wales egg chasing game - business invite I couldn't really say no to!

NO!, NO!, NO!, NO!
I am amazed that we got to February without a comment over the PNS budget (though someone else has probably been responsible for the shift of attention!)
Sorry BPW as I am not sure you were a regular at the start of the season but I confirmed then in order to stop a debate with wild numbers being thrown around rather than fact, that we had a budget of £400 a game in the League and £0 for Cups and it seems to have done the trick.
As I said above - a decent but sensible and affordable budget
Off to watch the Youth Team who play Yaxley tonight after their last 10 games had been postponed - I appointed a new manager in October and this is his first game!
Postscript: Youth team won 2-1 for their first win - well done to manager Seb Hayes and staff who will be known to a lot of you via his involvement with Yaxley, Thrapston & Whitworths
No idea why I am posting this anyway - I will be pretty much talking to myself - what's this twitter thing - is that where everyone has gone?

400 quid, i asked our manager what he would do with that a week... A good Saturday night out with a taxi home and maybe even a kebab with salad, followed by a session at the Thai massage parlour for the hangover on a Sunday. That would still leave plenty over for a quality goalscorer... Top 3 easy

It is starting to look like a 3-way split for the title and promotion after weekend results with ONC, Kempston or Thrapston now outside bets for top 3.
What with PNS & Irchie to face each other twice and Eynesbury hosting Irchester there are a lot more twists and turns to come.
We had the "official" green light on facilities yesterday so would be in a position to go up. Next interesting one then is whether the other two are in a similar position and who is lined up to come down in our places out of the naughty 6 in the Prem?

Finally, I feel suitably placed to put my tow pennies worth in on this, having played all three of the title hopefuls in the past 8 games or so.
Only based on personal experiences, I'd have to suggest the following:
PNS appeared the best footballing side. Seemed a touch over confident of turning us over at their place and at 1-0 up, I thought we managed them well and they had to step it up to turn it around. But they turned it on against us from the start at ours and put us to the sword. But reports suggest we caught them on a good day.
Irchester - I appreciate they had a few out when we played them away - and I missed the first game of the season at ours. But they also looked like they expected to roll us over and at 1-0 at half time, they probably thought it was an easy night. Only at 3-1 down and down to 10 men did they roll their sleeves up and didn't really set the world alight with football.
Eynesbury - they really didn't play title winning football in their 2-1 win at home and if you take away the appalling 20 mins on Saturday that we put in, not a person at the game would argue against the fact that we played them off the park. We lost, but never looked out of place and could have easily come away with three points if critical moments went our way.
Overall, we've only picked up 3 points against all three sides in 6 games, but purely from what I've seen, I would predict PNS, Irchester, Eynesbury.
The key item for me is which of the top two stop thinking they're too big and clever for the "mid-table" sides and put in the effort relevant to their abilities and wages, no matter the opposition. Because we've had games against the likes of Potton, Kempston and Chenecks that suggests they could easily be the type of team to make or break the title race as a result of PNS or Irchester taking them lightly.
